AFAIK he's survived by 2 more half sisters, Sharon and Vivian, 3 half brothers, Omar, Alfred and John Jr, 2 nephews, Sir and President. Probably a bunch of cousins and stuff I imagine.

I don't know how many of them attended since I probably wouldn't recognize them.

Yes. A private funeral for his loved ones. They deserve to have that and mourn privately. We have to respect that.

The memorial as you said is another story. That will be open to the public and industry people who want to pay their respects. I'm sure it's gonna be huge.

My mother died a few years ago, and wanted to be creamated. It was done within 2-3 days. You don't have to let remains linger for days or weeks just to satisfy the needs of anyone else to letitgo. Once a memorial service happens, there's no need to leave a body on indefinite suspension. It's right because it's how the Nelson's decided to handle this.

They sure weren't going to parade a big purple coffin out at the Target Center for a circus the way they did MJ's public memorial.

Keep in mind that I'm speaking as an agnostic so forgive me if I'm missing something in your opinion. But cremation just speeds up the "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" part. Barry White was cremated [as requested in his will] and his ex-wife released those ashes at one of Barry's favorite vacation resorts.

My point is that I think Prince may have wanted his ashes to be sent somewhere on planet earth.

I'm not an agnostic and I, and most members of my friends and family, all agree that we prefer cremation over the burial process. Having been through too many viewing of bodies, in particular having to handle my mother's burial, it is too unnatural and hard on loved ones who remain. I, too, wish to be cremated with little ceremony. I decided that years ago... I totally understand what Prince wanted.
