A rep for Prince tells TMZ, "A few hours ago, Prince was celebrated by a small group of his most beloved: family, friends and his musicians, in a private, beautiful ceremony to say a loving goodbye. Prince's remains have been cremated and their final storage will remain private. We ask for your blessings and prayers of comfort for his family and close friends at this time. The cause of death remains unknown and it will be at least four weeks before we receive the results of the autopsy. An announcement will be made at a future date for a musical celebration."

It was nice that the family gave out those purple boxes to fans. It appears he made it clear he didn't want any drama, and just wanted it to be a private/peaceful/quiet service. I was upset when David Bowie was cremated! And now Prince did same as well! It's sad to think of hot sexy bodies being burnt or to rot underground! No matter how beautiful or ugly bodies are there's no way to friggin preserve dead bodies! I rather be cremated too as well than let my corpse rot or stink!

Not only has his family been strong, but I love that his fans here at the Org have been so respectful and shown so much love for him. It has been a devastating 3 days, but an enlightening 3 days...we can get along and we can continue the Purple Reign. Even though Prince didn't have living children in a way his fans on top of his music are his legacy. He lives in all of us.

The healing starts now...He has made his Journey home. Now its up to us to carry the torch on so that future generations do not forget Prince.

So happy that this was done discreetly and privately. Happy to celebrate the now immortal spirit of Prince, which was what we really were always in love with anyway. His body, was just the encasement for an inimitable force that will never, ever be duplicated.

we all need to stay strong because the next few weeks will be rough! I mean we will see all kinds of untrue stuff and maybe some shocking stuff, but we cant let it diminish our love for him.

It would be absolutely awesome if Paisley Park was turned into a museum of some sort for fans to come and celebrate him. I would love that! I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Oh yeah, the rumor mill has been started brewing, but I will believe nothing until the autopsy report is finished and released. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I have concerns that Tyka will have complete autonomy over his estate.

Tyka has had her struggles in life, but who are we to doubt that she will do right by her brothers legacy. We have really no idea what their relationship was like. If he trusted her then why shouldnt we. Now the test will be her ability to withstand the problems that 800 millions dollars will bring. We shall see.

His remains have been creamted, around 7:43pm Central tonight, & there was a private ceremony with his most beloved friends and family. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I think they've done it beautifully and perfectly. And on the midst of their pain they even took time to do something for the fans. It is typical of him that he would have wanted no fuss. I can't bear to think of his autopsy and cremation, so am focusing instead on how much he was loved, by his family, friends and fans. Physically he was so beautiful, but his spirit is the most important thing, and that lives on.

The photos in the Daily Mail UK don't fill me with confidence. To an outsider, she looks like a transient.
