All the posts I've seen regarding P's death have been respectful thankfully.

What is there to say really? Today I woke up and the world felt a lot less magical. I keep saying to myself over and over "Prince is dead"? I can't believe it.

There are no words that can properly express the sadness I feel. Yesterday, I was stunned and devastated. Today, I'm numb. I can't believe I'm going to come on the org and not see any threads about new Prince sightings, appearances, new music and concerts. As I've said, I hardly used to post on the site but always lurked. I never stopped following Prince and his career or stopped being fan.

I can't believe this is life.

Man...Prince was supposed to live forever cry

I hear what you are saying. I can not believe it either. I was at work around 2 in the afternoon walking down the hall to our kitchen, where we have a TV and CNN is always on and I saw Prince on there. My first thought was hey Prince and then i saw it was an old interview with Larry King and I saw the words below. Prince, 57, Dead. All I kept saying was "What" "What", no way.... OMG, I can't believe this, not Prince."

I am still heartbroken over his loss. He was so special. What an amazing performer, singer and songwriter. Played over 27 instruments. Can you think of anyone today that we have like this?

fan for life

One month in, the Minneapolis Star Tribune posted 9 photos of mementos left by fans at Paisley Park.

For those of us unable to physically visit there, I'm glad others have been able to pay their respects.

I was fortunate enough to be back in the Midwest about two weeks ago and I made the 5.5 hour drive to Paisley Park (playing his music the entire time).

It was both cathartic and heartbreaking to see all the mementos and the memorials to him outside. I spent time walking around the outside of PP, then drove to First Ave and finally to Electric Fetus in Minneapolis.

It was my personal tribute to him and my way of honoring who he was for me. I don't know if it helped my healing process but it felt like something I needed to do and I'm glad I went. bheart

Thank you so much for making the journey. We may have chatted in the chat room a few weeks back, and I'm glad you could go to PP, Electric Fetus, and First Avenue. There's a virtual memorial link on the Org's sign in page, and while comforting, it's nicer to know real people are still going there to pay tribute.
