I don't like the version on the album. The abrupt ending ruins it. The full version is far better. I've actually replaced the shortened one with the full version on my iTunes. |

I think it would have to be a two way tie between 'Jughead' and 'Arrogance'... |

I'm gonna go out on a limb here (apparently) and say that the entire Purple Rain album is utterly flawless, and there's a reason why it propelled him into rock god icon status.... because it was amazing. I honestly can't believe no one has said this already How'm I gonna fill this empty room... |

crystal ball, the song, is absolute brilliance. it turns into a different song midway with a jazz/swing breakdown before resuming the original instrumentation? fucking sensual and amazing. favorite #1 A+++++ |

The work he has yet to create. We all develop opinions on what Prince can and can't do. If you asked fans in 1984 if Prince could write a good hip hop song no one would believe it. Yet he did with My Name is Prince. In 2001 no one thought Prince could do a neosoul album then he drops TRC album. I thought Prince ran out of new ideas and would never write another masterpiece then he releases Groovy Potential. His unknown work is his best because he never ceases to amaze. |

Agree. If we're talking about the officially released version, this would be my vote.
Seen a lot of comments for "Computer Blue". I need to listen to it again- haven't listened to it in decades as I always considered it the "Baby Be Mine" of Purple Rain. |
