Eye can't agree that this tour had no medleys ... In fact eye would say this tour amped up the medleys to the point of no return ... Lovesexy tour had em but had more full songs .. I sure do miss those fink keyboards tho ... So instantly recognizable and classic in every way ... Prince has played with no one better since

Ps celebration tour is a nice tour with no medleys and full songs instead of just a verse

I don't understand. Fink was on this tour, his last one with Prince. If you listen close enough to the live recordings, you will hear Prince say during Question of U:"Doctor play it pretty..." Or did you mean: I miss Fink because he left after this tour?

well,I was a teenager lol.

do you have any more pics, OldFriends4Sale?

I agree with the poster who wanted Batman songs.

it was the first tour not based on his new album.

I was really surprised at the concert since this was before setlists were

readily available.

That had to be a weird time for the Dr
He was with this man before he was anything, worked out together, had no money together, booed on the openin of the Rolling Stones tour together, to be sorta the last of the Purple Reign (outside of Miko and Levi) but this was Miko's last go round too

Eye put on a nude boot and whilst not terribly impressed with the over all show, did enjoy some moments but hearing finks fat fuzzed out key grind on controversy really struck me ... His tone and style cannot nor have not ever been properly replicated ... Yes eye no fink was on the nude tour ... P n fink had the magic together

Obviously, the 2 of you weren't in the Melkweg in Amsterdam in 2011... But that's okay... The guy has done lots of noteworthy concerts and he's still doing them, even if he"s doing them on piano now...

Of course. No one can. But this also means that there will never be one performance P does that is The Best Ever. It all depends on the vibe of the concert and the memories of who were there...

Was disappointed that this tour didn't hit the States, but I enjoyed the audio/video bootlegs. The return of "Bambi" was a real thrill and the band was great...."The QuestionOf U" was fantastic also...Sometimes I think that Dr. Fink was the only one who could keep up with him musically..(no disrespect to the others)..that's why he was with him for so long....It seemed just as that "G.Bridge/Nude" era started, it was quickly over.

After seeing the Tokyo show on VHS I KNEW this tour was underrated! WOW!

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U
All of it. Everything. Is U.

15 nights wembly arena, great fun that summer in London, lots of acts played.
"We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Bambi is probably my highlight too!

however it was really good to hear the future as well.

it's so odd that neither sign o the times or nude hit the US, he was moving FAST at the time.

IMO this tour was the last time Prince was on fire and really alive before these

awesome piano concerts.

It felt like a cash-in tour to me! Short and stripped down, trying to make up for the lovesexy fiasco.

.

The 1989 Japan Lovesexy gigs paid the debt for the rest of that tour. Which is why Prince's managers insisted he'd do those, while Prince didn't want to.

Hell, the reason Fink isn't in GB is because he was too busy programming all the synths for the tour.

.

But then there are also people who claim Miko left Prince's employ after Lovesexy, even tjhough there's a famous Nude Tour rehearsal where they get into a huge fight. Oh, and let's not forget he's in the concert videos.

IMHO the Tokyo one isn't even that great. By then Rosie was featured too much, Game Boys too invovled etc.

.

I fondly remember the Werchter gig, despite it being rather hot and the interminable Vollenweider tape inbetween Loïs Lane (eugh) and Prince's performance. But the sound was awesome, TQOU was stunning (loved those heavy booms),... It was too short, to be honest.
