I'll give it a go , I usually end up cringing at quite a bit but hey - it's the Internet( i think it just reminds me how perennially unfunky we white boys are - having to dissect everything to the nth degree ..we all know music shouldn't be critiqued like that - but hey I'm guilty too )

A fantastic, and very entertaining show men. Well worth the wait. It must have been amazing to go into the sidney shows not really noing what to expect. Funny you said after 2 or 3 shows you had your fill of the tour. I am thinking a little like that myself just from hearing a few shows that are floating out there. By the time the tour gets to the uk I might have heard numous shows and not be so bothered. Very funny to hear you stories about what you did after the concert too. Please never stop doing these shows, you are the best Prince related anything,by some distance. lol

I coldn't agree with you more. Peach & Black just have a great dynamic and are one of the very few things that make me laugh out loud inappropiately!

I also think you make an interesting point regarding the Piano & Microphone concept, whilst every review I have read states just how remarkable these shows are. would it be a show that people would benefit from seeing multiple times. Obviously no two Prnce shows are the same and songs choices vary etc but with such a stripped down show it really is something just unprecedented in the Prince canon.

As shocked as I was?

I really wasn't sure what to expect but whatever I expected, it blew it out of the water..

I thought it might get a bit boring, just being ALL Piano and sure, definitely by the 3rd time hearing RNRLove Affair yeah I was a bit over it but overall, a bloody great show!!

Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

Great review guys,

cant believe you all did a runner and didnt come up to Casablanca and go through the torture of waiting for something to happen - macas sounded like the way to go biggrin

Cool show, loved the tales and stories you all told.

.

Stalking Prince at the Casablanca was hilarious, playing LG to a breadman!

The story about the Perth Taxicab driver -Oh he's gay. That ignorant stereotype will never die. Maybe I should have been in the cab and said "Yeah so am I, do you have a problem with that!"

I hope you guys are happy he accepted the challenge and did it well.

The shows in Australia sounded great, however Prince did also play Adore in New Zealand and he also played Do Me Baby which was really well received and he played an after show at the Seamans Lounge or something.

.

Good show, just one teeny weeny complaint, but some of us other Kiwi fans, would have liked a shoutout, me, Hamish and Shane for instance (But its not that crucial I guess). Still the stories were hilarious and the ones of the birthday bitch, again Captain you made me laugh with that story.

.

We had the same stuff here, women screaming out "I love you Prince" and "Play When Doves Cry" along with some heffa who came down the aisle to the front of the stage and had to be carried off while Prince mentioned his Joni Mitchell story, telling her he wasn't angry with her. By the time that ended, she was history, also saw a few people getting pushed out for using phones.

.

I did a couple of review videos about these shows on my Youtube Channel - Tane McManus. You may like them if you haven't seen them already.

.

I think I may have met the superfan mentioned in Perth too, Australian guy, possibly gay, big handle bar Chopper Reid Moustache, huge symbol pendant around his neck, cool guy. My seatmate at the 2nd Auckland show. He told me he had been to every show on the tour saying the Auckland shows were up there with the Opera House and he was flying off to Perth tomorrow.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Started listening to the podcast, but soon as MC and Toejam started saying they kept themselves in a "Prince bubble" and kept away from setlists and reviews to see the tour 'fresh' I pressed the 'stop' button in the vain hope he eventually brings the tour to London town and I too can be of a similar state of mind. Lord knows it's a tough call for me cos I loves me some Peach & Black, but hopefully it won't be long before Princey boy comes this way....

I hear you. A moral dilemma, for sure!

Going into the Opera House fresh with very little idea of what to expect definitely enhanced the experience IMO.

believe me after seeing Prince over 20 times now, he will choose a female "heffa" or a screaming woman over a big gay dude any day of the week!
