Cuz it's only two chords. Very easy to play. Little to no rehearsal needed.

So Prince and Bowie did spend some time together one evening. Cool.
Prince does what he does.
He even might play a David Bowie song on the piano as a tribute who knows;
And if he doesn't, so what. Prince remains Prince.
He doesn't openly have to say anything about Bowie. He probably did it in private i'm sure.

But it's not up to us to even have an opinion about this. imho.

As a gay person myself, I'm super happy to have known David Bowie as a musician and performer.

He meant so much to every one of us.

He made us freaks and creeps feel real and pargt of it all.

No exceptions.

He paved the way for every one of us who felt different.

No one ever did that back in the seventies.
I'm sure Prince knows that too.

Peace !

I always took it as religious reasons as well. Though he covers Jackson's now I'd like to see him cover some Bowie because some those songs are damn good.

prince was @ LefteEye's funeral...

TAFKAP wasn't there either because Lisa died 2002 when he was Prince again. Just like I thought he didn't attend. Why would he when he didn't even go this parents funeral which just happened around this time.

[Edited 1/23/16 21:05pm]

MTV reported on the funeral and included a list of celebrities who were there. Prince wasn't on the list. You can google it.

I know, and everybody knows Bowie Isn't gay. I just meant 'different'.

If anything a lot of the older gays I know are really hostile towards Bowie as they felt Bowie used them. They had hope and passion when he came out in 1972, and could believe it through to the Scary Monsters period where he often wore drag and seemed to act flamboyant on stage (Ashes to Ashes and Boys Keep Swinging anyone?).

.

In 1983 Bowie came out as militantly straight, not just straight but pretty much anti gay too, saying ha ha fooled you, I was never gay and I doubt I even let Jagger suck me off. I can remember putting on a Bowie album at a gay party and I got dirty looks and got told to take that "Hate traitor" off.

.

It did not help this was in 1983, the year of AIDS becoming mainstream, the rise of a backlash against gays over it and Donna Summer also saying her "AIDS was sent by God to punish gays for their sinful lifestyle" and it seemed the world have caved in.

.

Of course I am not so shallow, but still saying you are gay and then taking it back is not a good thing to do, I am amazed anyone believed it as Bowie was married to bisexual Angela when he said it and he was still chasing skirts like Ava Cherry and a few others.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yeah, he basically said that Prince and he overwrite material and one way for Bowie to not let it pile up around him is to release it on the internet. He goes on some more about the internet. Interesting that this was made 20 years ago. He seems he was way ahead of his time in thinking about distribution of music on the internet.
