No respect for the michael brown tribute lyric.

The music is ok but the ending chant 'no justice no peace' makes me puke.

If he ever sings it live and I'm there, I will boo as loud as I can and whoever don't like it we can discuss it in the parking lot after the show. blackeye

It's not a great piece of songwriting, and I hate it when he goes political (praying for a violent, thieving thug?)...

...but, crikey, it's stunningly produced. The last 90 seconds are utterly gorgeous. So much so that I can't really get any further with the album yet.

Prince shows he is a hypocrite and not all that wise with this one..."let's take all the guns away" really so Prince banned all security from having guns at his shows now?

The purpose of a song isn't to set policy dude. Anybody that looks to Prince for political or social advice has some screws lose to begin with. Take the stick out your ass and enjoy or don't enjoy. There's absolute no point is beating this dead horse you've already beat the death in the preceding months. Listen to ambient music or Enya if you don't want music that offend your sensibilities.

I agree with this. I really dig the song...always have. Not sure it works that well as as album opener, though.

It's not his first anti-gun song ("Marz" "Dance On" etc.).

Like the other protest platitudes he recites throughout the song, it seems like he just wants folks to use their brains more not just talk.

Prince is also talking about war guns because he understands that the same industry that supplies guns to the militiary and popo profits even more from selling guns to terrorists, cartels and street gangs in the ghetto who pay higher blackmarket prices. Most economists and libertarians understand that guns — like all weapons — add very little economic activity to society because they destroy people, property and ultimately destroy productivity, despite the relatively minimal economic activity generated by sales, and are ultimately disposable.

It's easy to pray for someone you agree with. But if it's hard to pray for someone whom you do not agree with then I think it makes you stronger with a bigger heart when you do. The mood of this is beautiful.

The song is more about the event of his death and the events that took place afterwards, same with Gray, not their criminal history. It's also just a song, take it for what it is, like or hate it's your choice but no reason to shit on others appreciation of a song you don't like
