Who does more bitching, US or the little guy himself? "Don't take my picture", "Don't listen to songs with curse words", "Oh, no, I am a SLAVE with this 100 million dollar contract...". Prince bitches all the time about everything.

Well, when he said "albums still matter" it was just after putting one out that had a great attention to detail and sequence--whatever you may think of the individual songs. Bart's point is ridiculous. By putting out releases in different ways, he is not denouncing the album format. Prince will continue to release albums, individual tracks, live clips, underground remixes and whatever else gets his fancy, for the rest of his life. You would think after 40 years, 50+ albums, 100+ singles/remixes and dozens of side projects, his critics could at least work from an educated principle.

It's not really. It's more "organic" than Phase One but that's mot saying much. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

WOW! It's as different as night and day from Phase 1! Even though I already had a lot of these songs I still liked it a lot! Much better offering! Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Plus, this "Hitnrun Series", isn't so much serious albums- its kind of a side project of odds n' ends and just for fun stuff--as a concept he can keep it going for years as a unique way of clearing the Vault. Cool.

Yay, flop album number 4, in basicaly one year, is sort of on the market! Has PRINCE ever released 4 flop albums in a year? Way to harness the power of the internet, as ONLY YOU can Prince!

Black Muse is my favorite one so far. Stare is funky it isn't even fare to compare that one. Anyone have the lyrics to Black Muse? Sounds like it could have been on Rainbow Children.

HNR2 is a great collection of songs. Love it. The previously released song deserve a home on an album and it is great to have Big City, Revelation and 2Y2D, etc. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

This place is getting full of armchair moaners who know very little musically. Keyboard Warriors with no medals for bravery.
If you examine the body of work by Prince much of this new stuff stands up well with his early releases. I love HitNRun Phase Two. Very Prince of old and of now. By the way, the 80's was a LONG time ago, some of y'all are stuck there. [Edited 12/13/15 5:13am] βTuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!β

Don't really get this one...but could see what the previous album was trying to do. Think I prefer the risky instinctive version of Prince. HitNRun part 1 as least felt more like a cohesive project. This feels like a collection of 11 completely random tracks thrown together from all over the place. It's always nice to hear new stuff, but a curator, an editor...is sorely needed! Personal view...almost half the tracks have a connection to some other musical phase. screwdriver would have been much better on Plectrum Electrum, extraloveable we know is over 30 years old, Stare could be recently recorded but feels like old school funk. RocknRoll love affair...does it belong anywhere?? There's a warmth to some of tracks, but I wouldn't describe it as HitNRun...more like the Crystal Ball exercise in its selection. Very strange...

I can't help but stare at P's twitter banner and wonder if they are going to utilize each "painting/cover" and drop 2 more Phases on us.

just because you have a stolen copy of a song doesn't mean Prince shouldn't release that song on an official album.
This album got me to finally sign up for the trial on Tidal. Prince on Tidal has the potential to be what the NPGMC could have been. He's been on there 3 months now and this is the second album. I do wish he would fill in the rest of the back catalog and have a more complete collection of videos.

With so many strong songs on Phase 2 makes it his best album since TRC, I actually enjoy it even more than Lotusflow3r Welcome 2 The Dawn

What happened to Prince?
Not feeling this project. Half of the songs are old and the other half are throw away songs. Wow.
This makes the released version of Planet Earth sound like Purple Rain.

I actually wanted to compare this album to Planet Earth but was afraid too.. So many so far like this album... But it just seems a little boring... It's like ok the soul and essence are in the music but where's the energy...
I like Revelation and Look At Me, Look At You... The rest is just too middle paced jazzed tempo for older people...

im not talkiong about you im, talking about someone who evangelizes his 4 free trials..Thats an integrity issue; doing the right thing when no one is looking, just because you can do somethign doesnt mean you should ..you cant give 10./mo to something you love or like..I hope his employer doesnt pay him; they can assume he works for free Can he at least get a red stapler? Things will get tragic if not.
