25th Anniversary of Graffiti Bridge Unless I'm mistaken (and I often am) today is the 25th anniversary of the theatrical release of Graffiti Bridge. How will you celebrate? Eating hot peppers? Pissing on plants? Running people over? "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

got this info from Wikipedia:
The film was nominated for five Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Prince), Worst Director (Prince), Worst Screenplay (Prince), and Worst New Star (Ingrid Chavez). Despite media hype of it being the sequel to the massively successful Purple Rain, it was a commercial and critical failure and was included on several Worst-of-1990 movie lists. The title "Graffiti Bridge" comes from a now torn-down bridge located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The bridge was torn down in the early 1990s to make way for new construction,[4] but to this day remains a local legend.

How will I celebrate? By asking Prince to refund my fi' dollas (again). We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I am celebrating because it is 25 years ago today since I watched that monstrosity of a movie. Fucking embarrassing to watch, even when you're on your own, let alone when watching it with other people around! [Edited 11/2/15 22:24pm] RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

That movie came out during an awkward period in my life. It's cold comfort to look back and realize that film sucked on its own... without any depression that might have been influencing me at the time.

Well GB is such a bad movie indeed, Prince 4Ever.

I agree with you barring "Tick Tick Bang", bad as the movie and to me strongly in the league of the worst tracks ever released by P.

I only seen this for the first time earlier this year. Absolutely awful movie but I've seen MUCH worse. At least it had a good soundtrack.

I put this on for my wife after she said she liked Thieves In The Temple. Fuck me I was embarrassed and cringed throughout, it had been a few years since I'd watched it so I forgot how bad it was. How he got WB to 'release it' I'll never know

I agree with this, as much as I adore Diamonds and Pearls and his other '90s albums it kind of feels quite sad to see him doing his own thing to the next year kind of following the crowd. Not that parts of GB weren't typical of the time, because they were. Especially the movie, it stinks of early '90s. But it felt more original because it was Prince and because he brought the whole spiritual side to it. Admittedly I much more prefer the persona of Prince as The Kid presented in Graffiti Bridge (spiritual kinda guy) to his more 'Morris Day' persona. He did once say that The Kid and Morris actually represented two sides of himself.
