I can't speak for all fans, but I "go crazy" over remasters with bonus tracks.Longtime, hardcore fans live for stuff like this.Bruce Springsteen has just released a 7-disc (!!) remaster of his 1980 the River album.Fleetwood Mac are doing the same with their 1979 'Tusk' album. There is a new remaster of The Beatle's 1 compilation, with videos for every track on a blu-ray that comes with it.Seriously....if you're a fan of an artist and you don't get excited about stuff like this, there is something wrong with you.Prince's problem is that he never looks at things from a fan's perspective. He wants all of his fans to only focus on what he's doing now,but to be honest, his new stuff simply isn't as great as the old stuff. You will say that I'm "living in the past" but I'm OK with that.

There aren't an awful lot of A-list Purple Rain outtakes
Every outtake that I have heard from that era is fantastic. And I'm sure that there is some incredible stuff that we don't know about. That's the fun thing about projects like this.Fans get the chance to not only celebrate it,they can hear and enjoy what was left off of it.Can you imagine a Purple Rain 7-disc remastered set (two or three of the discs can be DVDs containing things like Syracuse concert,The legendary 1983 First Avenue performance,etc.).How can you not want something like this??!!

. Utter nonsense. They could easily do a ten-disc box sets and still be scratching the surface. .
. No, this is BS fams continue to make up. .

The 7-disc remaster of "The River" looks absolutely stunning. I may actually buy this set and I'm not even a Springsteen fan. Just a music lover.

I'm not sure Gaye was talking about the state of the industry, but who knows with such a rich record as "What's Going On". I think that on the contrary, his statement was aimed to be universal. "Brother, brother, brother", OK, it can be interpreted as a black thang, but to me it sounds very "unracial". The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

. I love those famz who proclaim that writing about Prince in less-than-complimentary ways is deranged, fully ignoring that they're upset at what people they don't know write on the internet about a celebrity. They project their own hurt feelings onto others, and have ridiculous assumptions that are solely based on their own inadequacies. They cannot fathom that others aren't obsessed 24/7 with Prince yet can produce well-considered advice or theories. They demand fealty towards their musical god, and cannot stand opposition. They continue to produce feeble excuses. And the underlying mantra is always the same: Prince cannot fail, he only can be failed. Insulting posts on Prince's official website? "He doesn't control it." His records fail to sell? "Nobody is selling well." Prince does something idiotic? "He's a maverick." © Bart Van Hemelen

Prince is certainly not above criticism....Hell, I've criticized him....But when u find yourself on a Prince fan site and 99 percent of your posts are of the "let's rip on the Midget" session while the remaining 1 percent is "LET ME SHOW U HOW BRILLIANT I AM, AND HOW DUMB U SILLY FAMS ARE..." then yeah, people are going to feel some type of way...
Trust me Bart...People are not getting on you because u r offering up some sobering, life changing truth about Prince that hardcore Prince believers DON'T want to hear....They are getting at you because you do so with a mean spirited, elitist, at times flagrant, assholish attitude...
U've been able to gain a few backers on this site because the Org, for all intents and purposes, is no longer a place where Prince fans can well....just be Prince fans and debate, enjoy and critique his music....Those people have left in droves....
It is now a place where folks bitch and moan incessantly when Prince announces that he going to do an acoustic Euro piano gig--complete with a running down of how Prince will undoubtedly fuck up the set list, even without hitting the first note....
You should be happy with the miserable state of the Org....Congrats....This is your baby....

Bart's sycophants on this site r growing...
But the truth is this is not about disliking or liking Bart or anyone else...I don't know the man other than what he posts on the Org...So I can't say that I like or dislike him....
What I will say is I find his act to be at times brazenly disrespectful to posters and tiring....
Other than that, there is no beef. I just want people to chill with talking down to folks like they got the cure for cancer....

Getting on my nerves? Bart is not my spouse...lol
It's bigger than Bart...It's about how people r being treated on this site....The Org has become a haven for lil Barts...There seems to be little respect..It's no longer enjoyable when real criticism has transformed into making Prince fans feel like they are idiots for supproting Prince on a Prince fansite....
How crazy is that? [Edited 11/11/15 6:10am]

I guess this is as good a time as any to remind you that you have only ONE (1) opinion on all things Prince post 1995: it's terrible.
So whoever you're criticizing, their views are more complex than yours with perhaps the exception of Kcool.

Bonatoc is an entirely different animal, he's a Swiss Army knife compared to Bart's dull butter knife.
I don't agree with him half the time, but he's very eloquent and a pleasure to read.
Bart brings up interesting information but his opinions couldn't be more predictable. He's like that uncle who is always ranting about how all politicians are crooks: - Uncle Bartie, can you pass the salt? - Damn those politicians, the price of salt is so high. - I just want the salt.... and the pepper. - Pepper's expensive too -- those damn politicians! - Pass them please! - There you go... don't blame me if you clog your arteries and end up needing state-sponsored health care designed to kill you quicker so the politicians can fill their pockets. - Thank you Uncle Bartie!

Are you describing yourself?
Arent you just as obsessed with Prince? Are you really going to act like you're not obsessed? and can't stand it when people post positive opinions.
You say somethings that make sense, but you also say things that are not entirely true and try to pass it off as fact.
How long have you been posting negative things non-stop about Prince. Just think about if you knew someone who spents over a decade talking about someone negatively. that sound normal to you?
I'm not attacking you personally, just saying that when you post things in bold you should look at yourself first.

You misread. There's a quote I really like by Theodore Roosevelt about "critics who are not in the arena themselves" that you should look up. Critique is fine, as long as it's not accompanied with self-righteousness of someone who doesn't create, who isn't themselves in the spotlight risking the reputation, their money, they fanbase with every action, acting as if, from the sidelines they're somehow better than this person in the spotlight who very often fucks up.. The question is NEVER whether someone is perfect or ideal, because no one is. The question is who the hell are you? Im not perfect enough to stand from the sidelines and critique people doing 1000x more than I am. I'm not a fam, I just try my best to be rational.. and humble. Change it one more time..
