I'm sure he and the honchos at Tidal are aware that the free trial month that many of us signed up for to initially hear HITNRUN is soon to expire and they're trying to encourage as many of us as possible to start paying the monthly subscription, luring us with the carrot that you just never know what Prince will release next!. I have to say I'm in two minds at the moment. I was about to delete my account, but if Prince continues to release stuff like this I might stay a bit longer. The question is, how long this will last? I'm sure this was all worked out prior with Tidal, that he would release a new song just a week out from the end of the free trial. Cash grab, or just a sound business model? This is really no different from the days of B-sides, when they would be used to lure fans to buy the singles even if they had already bought (or planned to buy) the album.

If that cover is a giveaway, shades off, I would say HNR Phase 2 will be a return to the Prince sound we have come to know and love, and most likely a solo produced effort.

Anything is possible but I'd say zero EDM on it, maybe Josh and 3eG contributing something but produced by Prince.
