I'm not a big fan of "Raspberry Beret".That song is too corny and too "pop".

Okay, here's one for y'all: I think Rave Un2 is a better album than TGE. It's the second best Prince album of the 90's, only behind the Symbol album.

Too original for words.

The Lotusflower website design guided me through a near death alien abduction trip. Turns out they DO get you in the neck when you're not looking!

I recently found the We Gets Up intro synth preset on the old Roland JV Vintage expansion card, and I intend to do absolutely nothing with it.

I find Indifference mildly unsettling, despite it being the best thing 3rd Eye Girl have recorded with Prince thus far.

Think the live version of Call the law with Tony M rapping is pretty darn good.

Yes.. me too. I don't care if people think its lyrically cheesy, it puts me a great mood when I listen to.

Change it one more time..

My very first thread on the org back in 1999 was a Everyday Is A Winding Road appreciation thread. That was before I knew what a bunch of cold, cynical and mean spirited fuckers you lot are. I was only about 15 at the time, and suffice to say I got ripped to shreds for it.

I don't like most of CD2 of emancipation, I don't like Adore. GOLDNIGGA is one of my favourite albums, and my top 3 prince albums are Come, Chaos and LotusFlow3r/MPLSoUND (I class them as one) and LotusFlow3r/MPLSoUND is probably my most important prince album since my journey has begun. I absolutely love love love BOYTROUBLE, and think HITNRUN is perfect... and people say the Aladdin dvd is poor quality... so what!? I can still see my perfect prince loud and clear, and so many of those performances are ON. POINT. also, PR is my LEAST favourite prince film. and when someone says they're a prince fan but only know the hits, When Doves Cry is the only song I let them take credit for. did i mention my favourite band is the Come-Chaos NPG lineup, and 3EG is my second favourite?

hehe, now you know.

Those of us who've pulled a funk-face while listening to 'Jughead'. We who play Planet Earth in its entirety, knowing that it's not a masterpiece, but hell we like it. Those of us who smile at 'Wedding Feast'. And yes, we do sing along to 'Everybody Loves Me'. Bopping to 'Stop This Train' is a pleasure. And us proud people who have recently got a smidge excited when 'Mr. Nelson' starts to speed up. Anybody else want to join in the confessions? Honestly, no-one will judge you... Well, for about three posts at least.

^^^Is KoolMusic Disease contagious?^^^

Honestly though, I have plenty more.

I like a lot of Prince's "rap" stuff (Funky Design, The Pope). I like "Life o the Party". It's one of my favorites on the album. I like most of MPLSound. I like "Silicon", "Cybersingle" and "Undisputed" (maybe just because of Chuck D). I like "Chocoloate Invasion" and "Slaughterhouse".

Not a fan of "Raspberet Beret" or "U Got the Look". I think "Lovesexy", "Around the World in a Day" and "Parade" are a bit overrated. I think the vast majority of Prince's ballads are overrated, repetitive and dull. I am not a fan of Prince's falsetto, by and large. I thought the name change was awesome. I think "Musicology" was his best tour. The Revolution were not a great band. Larry Graham works great as a bass player in Prince's band. I liked the cornrows and the crazy blue suit. And the Rave 2000 DVD.

There.

I like his voice, for a rapper. (Prince/Tony M/Rosie Gaines= new power trio. Too bad Rosie didn't stick around. Princes most formidable bandmate--see Arsenio Hall "Daddy Pop" performance for proof!) "Jughead" is pretty good! Jughead/Housequake medley would be awesome
I actually like Tony M's contribution to the Diamonds and Pearls album; Willing and Able in particular, but I struggle a bit with him on the Symbol album. But then I do like his bit on Love 2 the 9s.

Tony's fine to me on the studio tracks, especially on stuff like Live 4 Love, My Name is Prince and Sexy MF. He just sounded awful live biggrin .

What does it mean when something "knocks"? Is that a good thing? BTW, I also love Planet Earth (both song and album) and Betcha By Golly Wow (one of his all time greatest vocal performances).

I also love 3 Chains O Gold. It epitomises everything I love about the Symbol album, the way its so unapologetically OTT and pompous, but at the same time really organic and rich in its arrangements.

Ronnie Talk To Russia is awesome..... naive as hell, but awesome.

Tony M. wasn't the worst rapper in the world...... he just wasn't that good and definitely not good enough to be on a Prince album..... but it was the 90's, P was still young enough to where it didn't look COMPLETELY desperate, just completely head-scratching.

Overall I think D&P was a horrible album. Yeah, I listened to it alot back then but it's corny as fuck to me. (Do love me some Strollin' though!)

Come is my favorite 90's album by far (Letitgo came out during my father/son trip to Minneapolis.)

Not a huge fan of Kiss or Purple Rain (The song). In the context of the albums/movie they work great but Purple Rain definitely gets walked out on/tuned out if it's playing.

There are times when Lovesexy is my favorite Prince album.... PERIOD..... and I still feel it's his last GREAT album.

"A DOUBLE A DOUBLE ARROGANCE!!!"..... that's all I have to say.

Definitely. Hell. I even liked the Larry Graham call and repsonse on that one!

As for Betcha By Golly Wow, I thought he more than did that cover justice. Granted, no one can touch the original, but I thought Prince did a fantastic job. His falsetto was definitely on point. On the Symbol album, the one that I really liked (that in some estimations could be considered questionable) is Blue Light. The faux reggae beat is a stretch, but I think it's a fun song.

The 12" version of Glam Slam is one of my all-time favorite Prince songs (top 10 for sure), despite the fact that it is lyrically nonsensical and over produced. I also like the song Lovesexy, too.

I didn't know that Under the Cherry Moon was a bad movie until I got on the internet.

I mean, I knew the critics didn't like it, but they hated everything I liked back then.

My friends and I all thought that movie was the bomb (and I still do).
