Mike Scott, who wrote "Whole Of The Moon", tweeted about the concert stream right after it was shared by @Prince3EG! Popping shuffle funk mode...LOL . .

Are you saying its Good or bad?

“The Whole Of The Moon” is a synth-heavy sonic tribute to Prince, its guitars largely buried deep in the mix. Bowie, The Beatles and crashing brass fanfares are there too, matching Scott’s lyric about reaching “too far, too high”.
Interesting! | |

I love that he sings it from the opposite point of view to the original. As the song is inspired by him, it's just perfect. RIP

Yeah, it's pretty good. Nice that there's no female guest vocalist screaming over any track and ruining it. Only downer for me was Dreamer going on for about ten minutes too long, I got quite bored by that. RIP

Thanks! I don't actually know the Waterboys' music very well, but I love World Party. If Mike Scott being stingy with his recognition of other people's contributions is what it took to get Karl Wallinger to do his own thing, then I'm glad Scott was so difficult to work with.

Prince ruined "Whole of the moon" with his version.. At least capture the build up with the arrangement of the orginal version. Leave the synths in & do it some justice.. it was a let down for me. BOB4theFUNK

Mike Scott, one the creators of the song, has been raving about it. But it's good to have balanced opinions on boards like this, no right or wrong.

can someone help with the lyric changes to the 2nd verse of chaos and disorder? i am a mega fan who has been really disappointed with his comments about gay people in the last 5-10 years...
im always hoping for a ray of light that he changes his tune..... but of course, i can barely decipher these lyric changes... here is what i heard: hes gay, used to means he's happy nowadays, happy and you're proud [???], mess with that brother [?] in some states, it just wasn't allowed
help!
