During the extended instrumental part on Dreamer I think Prince references another Prince song, but I can't put my finger on it. Anyone else recognize the song.

I took it at the time as being somewhat more positive than the rather conservative sounding original lyric (it kinda sounded like he was accusing gay people of "hijacking" the word when he said "happy ain't allowed", and it couldn't be applied "normally" anymore). "Happy and you're proud" sounds almost supportive, or at least less negative.

I always just thought it meant that the word gay wasn't allowed to be used to mean happy any more, not that gay people weren't allowed to be happy.

I wish he would've included "Crimson and Clover" on the recording, it was amazing... Maybe he didn't due to copyright!?!? It was soo good!

whatever gave you that idea? in the original he says "he's gay, used to mean he's happy,
nowadays happy ain't allowed", the second part of which is accented by army marching

sounds and a man yelling "homo", which clearly implies that the army is in the wrong for

discriminating against lgbt personell. at least that's how i always heard it

I was wondering that too. One of my friends thought it was a copyright issue, but then why wouldn't Whole of the Moon have the same issue? I would lose it if they released the show from April 19th for WOW, Revelation, and As Trains Go By.
