Okay, the genius of Prince's 1980-1988 output has been discussed ad nauseum. But come on, unrealeased songs and protege albums included, surely there were some clunkers. So, in your opinion, which songs from the golden era just don't measure up?

I was never a fan of Sister and Ronnie talk to Russia.

I liked Sister live on the Lovesexy show actually, but not on record.

Don´t think Temptation is very strong either and it goes on way too long.

I know I'm gonna ruffle a few feathers here but I think these songs are bad....

*"Temptation"---this song is terrible....I remember a review where the critic said it sounds like "a bad acid trip" I gotta agree.The ending where Prince has a "talk" with God is downright creepy.

*"Tamborine"---never liked this one,either.He puts this filler track on the album,yet makes the superior "She's Always In My Hair" a B-side?? Smh

*"Life Can Be So Nice"---This song starts off good but midway through,it turns into a noisy,chaotic mess and never gets back on track.

*"Dance On"---the only song on Lovesexy that I'm not crazy about.

btw,I like everything on Dirty Mind,Controversy,1999,and Purple Rain.None of those songs can are bad.

And she was surprised how great a song he could make out of these words.. amazing song "Lalala, Hehehee". So funky like you wrote yourself..

A few of you mentioned "Lemon Crush".The funny thing is,I liked this song alot back in 1989.But when I try to listen to it these days,I can barely get through it I don't think it has aged very well

GOD = Self indulgent squealing and crap

Lemon Crush = Yuk, tired rhythm and lyrixs - robba, jobba etc

200 Balloons = Very overrated like a lot of the Batman material

Ronnie talk 2 Russia = More mediocre than bad, but out of place and kills the flow on Controversy

Trust = Never liked it, just a rhythm track

Vicki Waiting = More underpar filler on Batman

Arms of Orion -= Syrupy ballad and again like above
