Why does Arms of orion always get so much hate?
Beautiful vocals, beautiful ending, melody is almost classical...i don't get it.

I don't get it either. It's just a nice little piece. Nothing earth-shattering, I mean it ain't the next Beautiful Ones or anything, but it's not trying to be. Possibly it gets snubbed because it's so... 'chaste'. |

But that's the beauty of it. It's Prince doin' his Elton John. it sounds like theme music for a Disney Pixar childrens movie...like it could be on the Pochohantas or Lion King Soundtrack...very un Prince like... Yeah, I can definitely see Mufasa banging Nala while "The Arms" is playing in the background. and Sheena Easton sounds almost as bad as Appollonia on Take Me With You

it's a big,schmaltzy ballad but that's OK.There were alot of songs like that in the late 70s and I like those songs,too.It's interesting to note that Sheena Easton actually wrote the lyrics and brought the song to Prince.That rarely happens.
