New Prince Song 'What If' To Premiere 12th March!

The song will be played on a Kentucky radio station which can be streamed HERE

The radio station have said:

"In honor of the upcoming Hit and Run shows this weekend, we'll be debuting a brand new Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL song, "WHAT IF," tomorrow on WFPK. It features Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL drummer and Louisville native Hannah Welton on vocals."

The song is more than likely a cover of the song "What If" from Christiansinger/songwriter Nichole Nordeman's 2005 album Brave. From the 01.26.2013 cover story of Prince in Billboard magazine, the lyrics are described as being about Jesus and non-believers -what if you're right and he's just another nice guy ? But what if you're wrong and there's more than you ever dreamed of?) Hopefully Prince cuts a check.

Hmm, I was thinking more along the line of 'What if 6 was 9', because Donna Grantis covered this song a lot during some of her performances before 3EG. But who knows...

I really hope it's not this christian cover song, but whatevs

Cool that he's releasing new material but I do kind of hope it isnt TOO heavy on the whole religion thing. Like, I love his songs like Elephants and flowers,Let's go crazy etc where the whole God thing isnt TOO in your face so I hope it's like that if it is a more religious song.

I just listened to "If 6 was 9" and Nicole Nordman's "What If" both for the first time. Man. If 6 was 9 is like... hundreds of thousands of times better...

.

like, if absolute truth exists, surely part of it is that one of these songs is much better than the other...

Prince Vault says that they covered and recorded it in January 2013, that is if it is a cover of the Nicole Nordman track.

She's very religious and doesn't stop posting about God on twitter. This is exacly the type of song she'd do and to be honest Nicole's voice reminds me of Hannah's anyway. I've placed my bet.

If its that track, its a nice track. But thats the big problem with this kind of music. Its too nice and dull. I was in favour of this backing band at first but they are starting to influence princes music too much for my liking.

I'm really confused as to where Prince's religious beliefs stand now. I know practically nothing about the JW religion but this confuses me:

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

New music from Prince has never felt so unexciting! Another White Caps song (which I actually kinda like) with Hannah and Prince sharing vocal duties.
