I would love to see 3EG release this w/vox and as an instrumental. I like the way Hannah/Prince sings but would like to be able to focus on Donna and P's guitar because this song is a monster. I think it is a good track but I like all of PE. I like a lot of indie guitar rock and do not mind females with thin voices even thinner than Hannah's. I do think it would be interesting if Prince utilized Hannah's voice like a Nick Hodgson lots of background lala, nana ahh, etc. I think also people would not like if Prince had a good singer, even someone that can sing better than him because he is LEGEND and the core really only want to hear him at this juncture.

i don't mind the band, but the vocal and enjoyment of the song drops alot when she takes over the song. I'm sure its princes idea, so i am not blaming hannah or having a go at her, but the quality of the song dives when she takes over the lead vocals.

I agree with you in the sense that having Hannah sing on the track is just odd because it's unlikely she's going to deliver a lead vocal while drumming in a live setting... The guitar seems to feature more or in a more prominant way as she takes over the lead vocal so to me there is plenty going on.

She's no Beyonce but neither was Sonny T on the NPG band albums. 3EG isn't a Prince solo outfit, so it's somewhat to be expected.

What, what about Rosie Gaines, Boni Boya, Shelby and warfield? All great singers in there own right. Prince isn't afraid of having big voices around him or in front, because he has a great voice too.

It's rare that I really DISlike a Prince song on the first listen (Purple and Gold, Arms of Orion). I even quite liked the one he did for that sitcom, but this one's a real clanger. It starts off okay but then starts going nowhere and the missionary lyric buries it.

But would any of them fit into indie guitar rock? For instance, Rosie is great but not for something more Sonic Youth sounding than Kool and the Gang and vice versa with Hannah.

I haven't heard this track yet or read the lyrics but this looks BAD from what you've said. Singing about religious stuff? Fine. Shoving religious dogma down people's throats? Not fine.
