Black Lives Matter

What do you think about Prince saying so at the Grammys? I loved it. It is the kind of thing Prince does that has made me love him for over 3 decades.

Your hypocrisy is disgusting. That's fine, but drawing attention to domestic violence isn't?

When you finish flying off the handle and deciding to be disgusted, read the post again if you are interested in getting it right. My comment is in regard to how it was done; not why it was done. Delivery; not purpose. (FYI domestic violence impacts black lives as well, you know).

OF COURSE domestic violence affects black lives too -- it is truly an issue that knows no racial boundaries. Acknowledging that in no way detracts from the importance of the issues encompassed by the phrase "black lives matter", but your original statement -- that there was something "sickening" about trying to draw attention to the problem on an international stage -- is disturbing, misguided and most certainly wrong. ANY and EVERY opportunity to shed light on the abuse women face at the hands of men should be taken, and applauded. Shame on you for thinking otherwise.

Yes, well he also said that books and albums matter and they clearly don't, so I'm not sure exactly what he was trying to say confused

Also, it's the kind of non-sequitur he loves to throw around to appear spiritually and politically deep.

He wasn't "trying" to say anything, he said it as he meant it......that Black lives matter, and maybe not to you, but to some, books and albums matter also.

That is not what I said. I wil suggst one last time that you calm down, take a deep breathe, and read what was actually written. I am not going to argue a point that I didnt make. It is this kind of soapbox tactic that I was commenting on. If POrince stood up and spoke on police coilence on blacks for 5 mintes in the middle of the Grammys (as that chick did), I would have taken the same position. Prince siad something with about 2 words and 2 seconds. I saved my mother from a beating froma growm man when I was 11 years old so you cant tell me a damn thing about domestic violence. If you cant dig it, go on being disgusted somewhere and take any shame with you - I dont accept it from you. Let Prince fans enjoy the moment and this thread.

Interesting, I thought he was getting at the obvious decline of civilization we see happening. If people do not read books they decline to the point that human life does not matter. Obviously, I doubt people will see it that way and pickup a book. People are too shot from all the dangerous compounds in the water, food and brain damaged from all the vaccinations to wake up.
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

I think it's sad that Prince still sees color.

All lives matter.

He's living off his past and less than 1% of people watching him can name 2 songs off his newest albums but he feels the need to say the obvious because... he cares.

PLEASE GET RID OF THE FRO

IT LOOKS SO MESSY

Prince has had so many attractive looks in the past, I really wish he could just step back and borrow a little from there. No need to go Graffiti Bridge waves+beard again, but maybe even hair extensions on the flattened/blown out fro? IDK. Just please, please Prince, get rid of it

I was disappointed at his short time on stage (eh..) but Twitterville+social media went crazy about it so kudos to P for making celebs starstruck

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

First off we ALL see color no one is colorblind. 2nd of course all lives matter duh! His comment was about Black lives that does not dismiss other lives. A Black man was speaking about Black people. What do you mean he's living off his past? What is his suppose to do?

maybe, just maybe his wearing his hair "natural" is his way of expressing the love of his naturalness as a person who has some african traits along with italian and caucasion dna. i love his realness.

i feel he looks stronger and more handsome with his "real" hair texture.
