Very cool news
Since there is the Stevie tribute I imagine he'll participate in that but I think he's got something special planned and it's not just presenting an award.
Maybe it is in facx a Revolution Reunion to (finally) promote the anniversary. As many of mentioned the entire crew is been awfully quiet since you left social media
Sure hope whatever it is doesn't disappoint but this is P so u never know...

There's gonna be a Stevie Wonder tribute? That's great.Madonna is also gonna be on the Grammys performing her new single. In recent years,I skip this show but now I have several reasons to tune in

I would also love for him to do a Revolution/Purple Rain throwback but I don't think folks should get so excited so soon... there's about as much evidence of that happening as there is that Prince will be re-promoting For You (aka, none).
Somebody else said that 90s retro nostalgia is back, I totally agree. We all love Purple Rain, Kiss, Let's Go Crazy & 1999 but it would be great if he pulled out his 90s hits on stage like Cream, Beautiful Girl, Diamonds Pearls & 7 imo. Maybe do, just not like did before |

There's no evidence but there's indication that it's happening with Purple Rain remastered coming out sometime in the future

This would be the perfect opportunity for him to reunite with the Revolution! What better way to promote the Purple Rain remaster set?! Everyone would be talking about this.
The Revolution isn't a big thing outside a group of die hard fans (living in the past).
I think it'll make a bigger impact than Prince onstage with 3rdEyeGirl |

Well, I'm not saying this is happening, but Wendy and Lisa (as well as other Revolution members) have been very quiet on social media since mid-November, about the time Prince closed his accounts. In my mind, Prince has them all chained in the vault in Paisley Park rehearsing for the upcoming Prince and The Revolution world tour, to coincide with the release of the Purple Rain remaster! |

Hmmmm this would be the 30th anniversary of The Revolution performing "Baby I'm A Star" at the Grammies. I predict a reunion and THAT song being performed. "Purple Rain" reissue to be released the next day!

PR not being listed on the release schedule means little these days; Beyonce, D'Angelo, and J. Cole have all dropped "surprise" albums with little to no advance fanfare. I wouldn't be completely shocked if he did "This Could Be Us" with 3rdEyeGirl and an Apollonia appearance seguing into a performance of "Baby I'm A Star" with the Revolution (surprise!). While everyone is talking about that the next day WB release the details of the remaster's release.
.
Of course all that makes too much marketing sense. Prince will either just present or perform "TicTacToe" with 3rdEyGirl and announce the next day that "The Gold Standard" is his new single. |
