Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but the song works well as a statement to those who are not happy with him in general. He didn't write the lyrics but he sure picked them well. "AnotherLove" is just as good as anything else has recorded, since he first stepped behind a soundboard. Even though it's not his song. He made it his own brilliantly.

His name is Prince and not that symbol, and you should know if you really are a fan...

Yet his body of work proves it: he's at the top in terms of creativity and producrivity -- quality varied, and so did our idea of what constitutes quality, but Prince managed to remain true to himself better than anyone -- and make some fierce new sounds.

Art Official Age sounds even better now than it did when it came out.

From the baseline reference to D'Angelo's Brown Sugar album it is hard for me to imagine that Prince's version of Another Love is the standard finger in the air commentary. I could be grasping at straws but the base as played by ? Prince, Donna or Ida ? does alude to the creeping base of D'Angelo's earlier work. Since the PE cd was stamped with the same baseline, Another Love could merely be a promotion of that artist's work (Vanguard BM).

I'm a fair weather fan these days. Prince (and any celebrity for that matter) is very low down on my list of priorities. My infrequent posts would be a clue.

Prince is still worth discussing from time to time.

I am in total agreement and have also expressed this exact opinion on a few other threads.
