A clearer version of the Altanta '80 concert is now circulating. This version of the early Omni concert is more stereo based than the 4DF and City Lights R&E version. Mids have been increase to transform the recording from mono to stereo. This version is sourced from City Lights R&E. until then i'll pretend this fuchsia light is god...

This version is more stereophonic than the 4DF and Sabotage versions, and bass has been increased. Sounds best on headphones and good speakers. until then i'll pretend this fuchsia light is god...

4DF were honest about where the source originally came from and were ripped by an orger that sold it to Sabotage to release it as part of the City Lights R&E series. What do you expect when people download stuff for free and end up selling it to someone else. 4DF's version will always be the best one after the original source.

Although I obtained the 4DF & Sabotage versions when they came out, I never got around to comparing them to the original City Lights release from the 90s. They just got filed away on a hard drive while the originals remain loaded into iTunes. So, I've missed out on the improvements they offer. Are they a better source than the originals or just a better, cleaned up presentation of the same source? It is nice that those nasty cuts on CL are fixed. Don't know why I never updated my iTunes a few years ago. I think it has something to do with how much time and money it took me to acquire the complete City Lights set back in the day. This was before downloading was an option, I spent some coin on those discs! I think I let that keep me from making the switch. Nostalgia won over quality for once. Don't hate your neighbors.
