2 new albums and lots of leaked boots. I have enjoyed 2014. I wouldn't say it was 2004 big but the best we've had since. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

^^^ IIRC didn't the Lovesexy start making a profit about 5 shows from the end? She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

To me, a BIG Prince year has nothing to do with how much I like (or dislike) the music he is putting out. - In order for a year to be a BIG Prince year, there has to be a public presence by Prince and a release that is promoted with things like videos, tv appearances, concerts, etc. Whether you liked the albums or not, Prince was VERY visible this year in a way he has not been for awhile. - The New Girl, Saturday Night Live, Arsenio, Various Award shows, concerts, Paisley Park gigs, showing up on facebook, twitter, youtube. These were all things Prince doesn't always or usually do.
-Regardless of what I thought about it all, there was a lot of Prince to be seen and heard from this year. He was all over the place.
My uncle doesn't like Purple Rain. Does that mean 1984 in not a BIG Prince year?
I though Under the Cherry Moon was one of the most terible things I have ever witnessed. That didn't stop 1986 from being a BIG Prince year. Hell, his cute little face was all over MTV and in Sheridan Wyoming. Embarassing, but still very big. There was a lot of Prince to be seen, heard, and enjoyed.
Is it lost? I mean, it seems like we won't get it this year, but is there any definite word on the thing one way or the other?
And that's just it. It's all about perspective. If you are from Europe Lovesexy was a smash. I am from Minneapolis. I loved the damn thing, but in the eyes of the US public, Lovesexy was a disaster and Batman had to swoop in and rescue Prince from it.

He's made a milestone every 10 years since 1984. 84- purple rain 94- The 1st hit under the new name (TMBGITW) 04- Musicology 14- Resign with WB, #1 R&B album and #1 Rock Album So yea, all things considered, I think it was a big year. Could have been much bigger though.

Does he? He's an older man now. Great player, but pretty static compared to what he was. Like it or not, Bruno Mars is the new breed. Younger, dynamic and more exciting. Given a choice by promoters, Bruno would get picked first everytime. Fact.

For me, it was. 3 concerts, 2 new albums, and boots galore! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
