Is this the real deal, or the Ron Hardy version?

I love the 1 min sample of this.

What's the Ron Hardy version? I've got the one that just leaked, and it's 4:21 in total, is that the real one?

Is the version of 100 mph any different to what is already out there, any better sound?

Also how does Splash differ if at all.

I guess the released version had something added in 1999 when he was preparing Roadhose Garden.

Why isn't Cosmic Day on this? sad

Becuse Cosmic Day presently exists as a two minute sample. More than what was initially out a few years ago, but less than the full length of the song. You get the first verse, the chorus, and the second verse and chorus. It fades out soon afterwards right around the 2 minute mark.

Lyrics to second verse below this post.

Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see
I can be in a park, or flying in the…in the deep sea
I wish u’d hold my hand; then everything could b
There’s nothing strange, we’re not deranged
We only want everyday 2 b a Cosmic Day

Is cosmic day officially floating now. Are we finally going to hear it in its entirety??????

Not likely with this release. But IF, and that's one huge IF....if it is in this collection complete, that's worth the price of admission alone.

Instrumentation is slightly...very slightly different. But it sounds more organic. No Clair Fisher in this one, and that actually is a plus. The guitar picks towards the end of the song are more pronounce and sound slgihtly echo-y. I like the effect and prefer this earlier version to the released one. Same goes for Neon Telephone...the earlier version that apparently appears on this set sounds better than the one recorded later (the one we're all used to at this point).

.

P.S. - Don't shoot the messenger.

Do u confirm too that Purple Rain demo is not a real demo & Empty Room presented on this set is not the 1985 version?

The Lady cab driver instrumental on this set is no a demo intrrumental version i guess?

I've just heard the sample of Moonbeam Levels from this set.

It's excellent sound quality far superior to any prevoius circulating version.

Can't wait to get the full song. Amazing, truly amazing. I've waited years for this and it's almost here, almost.

i'm excited about "neon telephone", i've always liked that but it's never been out

there in real good quality. "perfect unreleased" was an improvement but still not

great.

/

also excited about a good quality "toy box (instrumental)" since the ones that

have been circulating all sound like it was recorded inside someone's pocket smile
/

and what about "electric chair 1988"? hmmm
/

this will be an interesting set to say the least.

hmm, it might. all versions of the song i have are between 3:56/3:58 (so basically they are

all exactly the same version, in various sound qualities).

the version on this set clocks in at 4:06, so give or take 10 seconds longer than what we've

got now.
