So the free labels held back from releasing the stuff everybody wants and let Eye get their hands on it instead? Makes sense

All of this is well said, especially # 8.

I've heard nearly everything on it, but I have no idea if the sources are the same or not. Never heard of the Lady Cab Driver instrumental, but it's probably nothing special. If I get this I'll try to give my honest opinion on the quality of the sources, but I'm never first with anything, so I'm sure somebody else will review first. Disc 4? Really?

So I can only presume that perhaps someone sold on outtakes to Eye re this set. If they did, they would been paid sod all, relatively.

The free labels got pissed off putting stuff out and then seeing the profit labels sell it a short while after.

4. Prince HIMSELF sent unreleased songs to at least 2 others last year. You wondered where the pristine Adonis & Bathsheba came from? Hell - a great deal of songs got leaked in the first place because Prince would just hand out tapes to all sorts of people. Cosmic Day, Everybody Wants.... And Traffic Jam came from a Paisley Park tape for artists who might be interested in using one of his songs.

Are you referring to Da Bourgeoise and The Sweeter She Is?

But now was have a profit label putting out stuff which presumably could have been released by one of the free labels, had they not been so pissed off, and more props an £ to Eye because of it. So I don't really see the point

Doesn't make sense to me either.

Pay label's trying to profit from free label's work is as enevitable as them trying to profit from Prince's work. That's what they do.

Real Prince fans that are into bootlegs know that FBG deserves more of our thanks than Eye.

Absolutely, all props to FBG etc. It's a shame they stopped but they were daft to not realise that the profit labels would do what they did. Let's be happy that Prince didn't take the same course when people started bootlegging his works!

When you say pristine Adonis and Bathsheba are you referring to the first full version that leaked or a subsequent version that which came out in better quality? The initial version was very good sounding but I don't know if I'd call it pristine per se.

In the past, yes, but now its Eye supplying the demand. FBG/4DF etc could have played Eye at their own game with this and released their own version earlier, but when was the last time one of these labels released uncirculating outtakes? Dont get me wrong im not defending Eye and their rehash releases, but on this occasion they arw the ones giving people what they want (and fro me it will be free anyway) so for that they get props

Which would indicate that money has changed hands for these outtakes. Kind of a throwback to how bootlegging used to be years ago, except there was much more money in it.

The orger who says that "real" Prince fans are more thankful to free labels than to Eye makes a really dumb statement. I'm more thankful to Eye, and I'm certainly as "real" a fan as him. Apart from being a real fan, I'm also respectful of other tastes and preferences, which he isn't. Free labels don't press CDs, so I choose Eye and will continue buying their stuff.

evebody want what they don't got and the ones you have not heard before ( don't let him fool ya is not muddy like some thought that it might be) are full versions in perfect quality as listened to some of it . The majority of other other stuff i heard are in better quality than i have ever heard like around world in a day, elephants and flowers .

I think they probably got hold of the free labels work that they would not share as eye do not usually remaster things .

Moonbean leves is perfect quality like someone said as is neon telephone perfect quality. Both a step up on what i have ever heard before. .Some of the extended version like batdance, trust i am not sure whether they have been release before. As i say the majority are in perfect quality and the rest are very close to it.

purple rain demo . is the unedited 1st avenue performance of it i think but they may have work on it studio. It is difficult to say unless l go back and listen to it on makings of rain , its very good sound but not one of best soung quality wise on release. I like traffic jam it is full version. it is just an instrumental and perfect sound but it is just music no singing by prince.

Lady cab driver i feel it is just the music without vocals to thats song. I think it was perfect quality. You will know by checking track lengh whether there is more to it than that.

Maybe some one else can help with instrumentals as not to sure what info you want on them.

Romeoblu

I hope some of it starts leaking soon.

People seem to be hearing parts of it. The only sample I've found is of Love Never has to say goodbye and that we already have.

This could be a really great set if it lives up to the claims.

Traffic Jam in Full with Perfect sound.

Everybody want what they don't got in full with perfect sound

Moonbeam Levels with perfect sound

Neon Telephone with perfect sound

Eternity with Perfect sound

Possessed with perfect sound

Don't let him Fool ya with perfect sound. I've got the full song but only in real bad quality.

Those alone make this is very tempting set.

Purple rain demo I feel as been remastered and is a step up in quality but not quite perfect.

Alright! Relax....

Sorry for twisting your panties.

How 'bout this:

Other than those who don't know how to find, download, and burn (if they need an actual disc), and/or those who can afford to dump loads of cash on something the rest of us get for free, and/or those that are unaware when labels like Eye press the work of of labels like FBG and pass it off as their own.... all the other "real" Prince fans other than those I just mentioned, know that FBG and other free fan labels deserve our thanks and respect more than Eye and other profit labels.

Feel better now?

wink

One last thing: Real Prince fans don't need validation from other real Prince fans to know that they are real Prince fans...

A handful of people have it, but I believe whilst it's a longer version than the commonly circulating clip, it's still not the full thing, but has the second verse and second chorus.

Extremely few people have the entire thing, it would seem.
