3rdeyegirl = Christian Rock = BOOOOORING!!!

found this on Hannah's facebook page.............no offense but this is one more reason this new music is boring as fuck

http://www.christianpost....us-128073/

The Chicago-based drummer was saved in 2010 and she says that her faith remains at the forefront of everything that she does, including her music.

"Everything I do, whether it's music or dance or writing poetry, I do for God and for His purpose and for His will in my life," she said. "Same as [my husband] Joshua. Literally every decision is made with prayerful consideration. God impacts everything in my life."

While some Hollywood artists will shy away from speaking about faith and spirituality in attempts to avoid sparking controversy, Welton says that she enjoys sharing the Gospel but seeks to do so without coming across as "pushy."

"Joshua and I are always open and willing to talk about our faith. We talk about it quite often with the girls and with Prince. It's always really healthy conversation," she said. "We never want to come across like we're pushy and judgmental, or like we're trying to force it on people. The most effective way to minister to people is through your lifestyle and we say all the time that your life could be the only Bible the people read … For me it's more important to live the lifestyle you're preaching rather than constantly preaching."

Welton was discovered by Prince, who is one of the highest selling artists in the world, a few years ago on social networking site YouTube. She has been performing with his band ever since.

In a recent interview with The Guardian UK, she shared her concerns about artists who send out mixed messages through their music who continue to push boundaries.

"At the moment in the industry there's so much vulgarity coming from men and women," she previously told The Guardian. "We have way too many young kids looking up to artists that are putting out music with terrible, vulgar messages and also walking around with next to nothing on."

Earlier this week she took the time to clarify her remarks and emphasized that it is not her intention to "bash" other artists.

"I do really want to clarify that I am never bashing or slamming other artists. My problem with what is being seen and what is happening in the industry goes far beyond the individual people," she explained. "I'm thinking about the message being received from the little kids that are idolizing these people. I'm thinking more about the spiritual aspect of it rather than the people. My intention is never to degrade people. Everybody has a hustle. Everybody works hard and I would never bash another artist for doing what they love."

Growing up, Welton was influenced by the likes of John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and The Alllman Brothers. She spoke about the decline of live music, particularly at award shows, and she shared her hopes to teach younger generations about the need for live music.

"I really want the younger generation to see the importance of live music. I feel like today at all the music awards and music shows and stuff like that, a lot of artists are lip-syncing or the bands aren't even playing their instruments," she said.

"I'm a firm believer that at music award shows, live music should be played. So I really want the younger generation to kind of see that. I just want our music to kind of wake up the industry so that everyone sees that there is an element missing in music today," she continued. "So I believe a lot of that element is the live element. I think some of that element is [also] the substance of music (what's being said and taught to our kids). I think a lot of music today is not doing anything to better the world and teach the younger generation to grow up and be strong and to dream and just be motivated and encouraged and inspired. A lot of music is talking about the same old thing, it's not really saying anything."

I heard her background was rural, God fearing. Poor kid never stood a chance.

As for her idols...she should know that they invented "vulgar"; and the music wasn't that bad either.

In terms of logic and consistancy, I'd say the bible is very hole-y.

She's a sweetheart that can bang the hell out of the drums.

So being Christian makes music boring? What do you desire in music? Cursing? Vulgar lyrics? Violence? If so... i think the person with issues is you... not Hannah.
And as for someone saying "poor kid, never stood a chance"... what? She's recorded, toured and released a #1 rock album and #8 billboard top 10 album with Prince. Yea, Looks like her Christian values and background really held her back...

Im not sure you feel she never stood a chance because she is from a Christian upbringing? Millions others are from the same back ground, and get through their lives with no hassle.

She's a drummer for one of the biggest pop stars to have lived, even before that she was on the scene trying to be a role model for kids and things, Shes a genuinely good person and if that is down to her religious upbringing then its got to be better than some of the other people in the world? Married to a guy who potentially in the future is going to be big in the game production wise and is still only 24.

She's probably achieved more in 24 years than most of us will in out entire lives.

So are Josh and Hannah JWs? Judging by their devotion to a god as outlined above, it must have been extremely difficult to not throw some god stuff onto the albums. What about the other 2 girls, they also look up to a god-like mythical being?

Wow...the tolerance is strong on this thread. Not. Do any of you have one of those nifty COEXIST bumber stickers on your car, by chance? If she were gay she'd be celebrated. If she were Muslim none of you would say a damn thing. But since she has the nerve to be an outspoken Christian it's open season.

lol I always find it curious that there are 'Prince fans' who either never like his sexual lyrics/image or the ones who 'hate God' and take issue with it...

Those 2 have always been a part of his image music lifestyle etc Some 'fans' act like he just started talking/singing about God yesterday, like he tricked them or something

I think the problem is that Christian's aren't known to be very rational & are often outspoken. As long as they keep that sh!t out of the music I could care less. I'm ok with spirituality & soul searching, not so much the preaching.

.

I don't think 3EG collectively are 'christian' per se, but Hannah obvioulsy is & that's fine. I think she's a good drummer, period. Although I do find her voice reminds me of christian rock music so in that sense i agree that it makes them sound like a christian rock band when she's siging lead, especially in the song LOL- totally sounds like christian rock - & that's cool if you ike that sort of thing. I personally don't care for it, but I don't think it's horrible. I wish LOL was on PE instead of some of the other songs even though I don't care for it, its better than some of the filler imo STT, TTT - to me these two tracks sound too studio developed for the analogue sound the album.

True, but I don't believe he comes off as super preachy in most of his music (not specifically ayway), except for TRC, which imo the music certainly made of up for the preachy lyrics. Even though he's a supposed JW, it's not a major glowing them thru out his music. There may be hints of it here & there but it's usually subtle to a certain degree.

Very true. And I was just making an observation. The sad thing is even before I clicked on the thread I knew it would devolve into Christian/bible bashing. You can argue that Christian rock is 'boring,' but the religious intolerance is just so predictable now.

I really don't know why this is even an issue brought up on the org. Hanna Ford is not Prince, 3rd Eye Girl is not Christian Rock.

.

And again, to some people just saying God is preachy, and to some just being positive in lyrics is preachy. I mean there were people on the org saying "I don't like LOL because it's too preachy"

I don't like it but not for those reasons.

.

Sorry but people in general are known to be unrational and outspoke on a lot of stuff in general. And bitchy. There are a lot of music styles and messages I'm not into. So what. There are Prince albums I find booooring. So what.

Prince: God, 4 the Tears in Your Eyes, the Cross, Eye No, Anestesia, God Is Allive, Planet Earth and I'm skipping over a lot...

I agree. It's always been a part of Prince to various degrees.

The OP is irractional because 3rd Eye Girl is not Christian Rock

Now that the OP has exposed Hanna for what I already knew, the OP should stop stalking her page

And stop scapegoating 'Christian Rock' as the reason they don't like Prince's new albums

That is the most ignorant and generalized thing to say. You are the poster child for intolerance. And I'm sure Hannah will be happy to know that you're giving her a pass despite her being Christian. Thank you for commenting and proving my points for me.

I don't think they're christian rock, just kind of sounds like it sometimes.

I think it's a decent song, just not my cup of tea. I like the theme, but it sounds very christian rock, but does not sound preachy at all to me.
