I don't think it's awful but it's average by Prince standards at best. I preordered both albums and bought the Dance4U remixes from itunes. There will definitely be something I will do cartwheels for among the 2 new albums.

Actually, the whole "it's not currently cool to be into Prince" thing resides in the bubble of the Org...In the real world Prince steps onstage and gets a standing ovation at an awards show without even performing...In the real world he sells out gigs in hours...In the real world his much younger musical peers revere the man...In the real world he still gets headlines online for posting a meme aboutLil Mo talking slick about him...In the real world he sold more tickets than Beyonce (the biggest "current" star on the planet) at the Essence Festival...
Trust, the Org will make you think everyone hates Prince....lol
Don't fall for the bitching bullshit...

Cool, funk track. When I saw the title Clouds, the first thing I thought was Mountains. I do notice a thematic similarity between the songs. Prince takes something as beautiful and majestic as mountains or clouds and turns it into a potential negative force against love. Mountains become a symbol of massive immovable hate and clouds become a symbol of endless narcissism. [Edited 8/25/14 12:41pm]

I'm interested to hear it. Some are saying masterpiece. Others, pure excrement. It can't be both, surely.

Wow. So super smooth and sexy. This is a song by an old school funky brother who has rediscovered his mojo. Incredible production. Totally love it.

I don't recommend to listen to music on headphones. It ruins your ears, tinnitus is not funny. [Edited 8/25/14 12:42pm]

It's ok if you don't have it too loud though? I never really listen to my music crazy loud like I know some people do and my hearing is fine.

I hope they carry the little sci-fi concept in the song through the album, that would be fun - it's been a while since we had some batshit sci-fi Prince.

At first listen I like it. Funky bass line, quirky lyrics & trademark guitar solo. Ticks off all of the boxes for me, P's got a winner on his hands. [Edited 8/25/14 13:33pm]

I agree. I like when his albums have a consistant theme throughout.. even though the music world is turning towards a singles type culture, I prefer to listen to full albums. Even if Im not crazy about all the tracks on it, I like to just put something on and have a complete experience for 45 min to a hour. Change it one more time..

Clouds is being called sultry, funky, jazzy. It's one of those songs that does not let its nuances show right away. I like the production on it.
Great article by Rolling Stone on the new release:

As someone who has not liked anything Prince has put out over the last few years bar TGP......this is a fantastic track. This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

Starts off kinda nice and goes nowhere imo.
I was around when no one knew WHO Prince was and it certainly wasnt cool to be into him or his music - I'm Just hoping for something inspiring, and this is not that. This just feels lazy. Well played I suppose. Not much else. [Edited 8/25/14 14:47pm] [Edited 8/25/14 14:53pm]

Honestly, my anticipation for the new album has dwindled massively after seeing the track-list, & hearing this song. This track is as mediocre as all the other recent mediocre/bland music Prince has been releasing lately. It actually sounds like an unfinished demo to me [It's so....empty]. The mix is a little better than most of his recent stuff, but that's really the only thing I can truly [somewhat ] compliment. I actually like "RNR Affair" way better than this. I believe that most of you all are just excited about a new album coming soon. I've listened to the song more than a few times, & I still can't actually remember what it sounds like. There is nothing memorable about this song, besides the chick who pops up @ the end of the song. I miss the "avant-garde" Prince. Highly disappointed. الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!
