Obama was nominated and won't do it either. They both have a little more class than that. If he wants to, he'll give a montary contribution, as Obama did, but ain't nobody throwing no ice water on His Royal Badness, forget that! |

moderatorCharity is a great thing. Gimmicks and trendy things to attract attention are fine...but this one is pretty stupid. People should be willing to give to charity without dumping Ice on someone. I do like the idea of famous people calling out others, but Prince obviously is not the best choice for something like this.
One reason Ice dumping so pretty stupid, is even though it is fairly harmless, it's something for people under 45. Older people are prone to pneumonia. George Michael is 51, and nobody dumped ice on him, and he nearly died from pneumonia, and despite the rumors, he has no confirmed illness that led to the pneumonia.
Just google George Allen, former NFL football coach, who was met with a shower of gatorade in a game where the temperature was in the 50's. Not freezing mind you, but he was old. He died two months later.
What does all this mean? Not much, really. Just a point of view. People should be willing to give what they can to help humanity. And if it takes some gimmick or promotion to inspire people, it should be one that is healthy. | |

Prince is not one to follow trends, he makes them. Wasn't it said that they wanted him to be included in the "We Are The World" recording with all the other celebs, and as we all know, there was no Prince. I don't think that he will jump on the bandwagon just because everyone else is. | |
