Tbh I don't blame people my age and younger for looking to the past for music, todays mainstream music is complete and utter garbage. At least back in the '80s and early '90s there was a good selection of differing music in the charts. These days its all computer generated shite. Everything sounds the same.

i'm 17 and i like prince. their is no problem with young people liking P... OP is making the problem up because they are trying to seek attention from the fact they are young and listen to 'old' music. people always do it in youtube comments... grow up [Name calling snip - luv4u].

like I have said before in previous posts.. I'm 18 years old and live in a small town in Mississippi and if I am talking to someone about music, for the most part they like and respect Prince. They played Prince at our prom senior year, as well as other social events and everyone loved it. In college, I've found that most people like Prince. I was playing the sign o the times album in my car the other day (i think housequake was on), and one of my friends asked who that was, i said Prince, and he was like woah i need to get into Prince. I saw him about a week later and he had downloaded the whole SOTT album. So i guess i really dont know where the op is coming from lol.

There's nothing bad about being a young Prince fan, that is if you're truly a fan of his music, and not living in a fantasy world, thinking about him sexually or anything, that's just weird. I'm talking about for example, a young teenager of 15 or more, thinking about Prince, a man who's 56, that's just gross! I'm a long time Prince fan, a couple years younger than Prince, and I have 2 young adult kids that like Prince's music also now, thanks to their mom's love of his music, but my daughter is not "in love" with him. She's knows he's no longer the young, sexy musician from Purple Rain, that was in his 20's. She knows he's old enough to be her father now, that's my point. Now this is just my opinion, but to me, these really young women that I see with these older celebs, are just in it for the fame and fortune that they can give them. I honestly don't think that they truly love these people, nor would they give them the time of day, if they were not rich and famous. Look at Mick Jagger and this young woman. Do you honestly think that she is with him because of his looks and sex appeal? Or, consider Hugh Hefner. Do you really think that any of the women that surround him, and marry him is because of his stunning good looks, and sexy body? I'm in my 50's, and there's not enough money or viagra in the world that would make me want Hefner! It's disgusting and disturbing! Now I know that Prince is still a good looking man, but he's getting older, not younger, and if you're a teen and you're thinking about him in a sexual way, to me, there's just something disturbing about that.

Good to see you undersand human nature at such a young age.

And I agree. The only possible reason it could be bad to be a young Prince fan in this era is the cost of seeing him live. That's about it. Other than that it's an exciting time to be a fan (with so many upcoming projects and scheuduled releases) and unlike when I was younger he is much respected and revered universally.

Because the absolute truth is... PRINCE is a royal fucking ass! No matter how you rationalize it, justify it nor flat out choose to overlook it!!! There just is no getting around that...EVENTUALLY...no matter what!

The only downside of being a young Prince fan is that we've missed out on a lot of great concerts!

your post comes off as extremely judgemental and condescending. prince himself designed his image to be 'pure sex,' so it's misguided to act like a younger person can't have a crush on him. he's hot stuff!
