3 chains o gold, princes most kate bush like track?

I was listening to the prince album today, and it came to 3 chains o gold. I cant help but think the track is probably one his most 'kate bush' like. Just how it tells a story and how dramatic it is.

How he makes his voice quite low and then goes high and the music sort of compliments it??. Kate often does that in her early stuff.

I know he did work with her in the early '90s.

Do you think she influenced him?

I know he loved Kates hounds of love album.

I can kinda see your point, but all the histrionic guitar going off all over the place reminds me more, and I'm sorry to say it, of Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

I'm not a fan, to put it bluntly.

I'm sure he likes Kate Bush's music but I wouldn't particularly draw comparisons between that song and her work.

Usually it's compared with Bohemian Rhapsody. I don't see any specific link between 3COG and Kate Bush.

It's pretty obvious that he was inspired by queen's bohemian rhapsody. The song was released one year after freddie mercury's death and bohemian rhapsody was a big hit in late 1991/ early 1992 because of it's inclusion on the soundtrack of "waynes world". It was on heavy rotation on the radio and MTV.

Yes, Prince likes her......

Kate Bush is listed in the Diamonds & Pearls album "thank you notes".

And, later, they did those 2 songs together Why Should I Love you? & My Computer.

One of my very favorite Prince songs. I can see a little bit of a relation to some dramatic Kate songs circa 1980 or so.
