I'm not sure what your comment is referring to. I've certainly heard of promotion. He used to promote his albums, and not feel compelled to "introduce the world to Liv/Shelby/Bria/etc." all the dang time.

This would have been a great opportunity to play several new 3EG songs and maybe one deep cut. Instead, it's one new 3EG song, one not-so-deep-cut, and 2 backup singer showcases.

And yes, Tony M. rapped, but within the Prince songs that had is raps in them. He didn't have the NPG by themselves on there to do "Call the Law" or anything like that (and even that would have been okay with me if he had played that blistering guitar solo that he played on the Sacrifice of Victor).

I just had to vent. Liv seems nice. Shelby seems nice. I don't give a fuck about either of them. I'm a Prince fan. I guess I should be grateful that it's not Larry.

According to Housequake Prince was asked what his favourite song is in the Q&A. He said it was 'The Breakdown'.

I don't care for them either but they aren't playing for us. They are playing for the TV audience who probably won't know who they are and may well like Liv's song enough to go and buy her album.

Seems to be the same format as when he was on George Lopez show. 2 performances with Prince on lead , interview with Prince and rest is Liv and SHelby.

I can deal with the first three songs(even though I would rather have a new song instead of always in my hair) but what is the purpose of Liv and Shelby singing Mutiny/Ice cream castle? What does that promote again? Why not just let Shelby do her song or Liv sing another one if Prince did not want to play again. I don't mind the associate artists playing but why waste the TV spot on promoting absolutely nothing!! Covers of the Famly and The Time? REALLY!!??

Acutally he did, that was the last song that was being played as the credits were rolling.

Prince is a gracious guy, which is great, but I agree that everyone came to see Prince, not anyone else. If the people Prince helps want to perform, they should wait till they are invited on the show.

He had an afterparty at Mohegan back in late december, everyone came to see prince, but guess what everyone got? An entire 10 song set by Liv, Doug E Fresh as the DJ for a few hours, and no performance by Prince, just a get the hell out the party is over. Now that is something to get upset over.

This is exactly the same situation as happened in 1991 for Prince's first appearance on Arsenio's show. My friends and I lined up for 6 or 7 hours, and then they only let in the first 20 people in line, so we went home disappointed. After that, I pretty much decided that I wouldn't bother with the TV appearances any more, since I could see most of it on the TV broadcast anyway! (The only time I went to a TV show was when i won tickets through NPG Music Club to see his appearance on the "Ellen" show in 2004). Live and learn

Finally seeing and hearing P perform this song live was very nice! Great entrance!

The song is actually a cool anthem! Like P's overall energy on this song...just needs some P on guitar! Enjoyed how he almost slipped a cuss word in! Oh imo he should have pointed at the end

Hornz at the end are a nice touch and take it a new level as only P can do.

Just saw Funk and Roll on Arsenio. I'm sorry but 3rd Eye Girl needs to stay away from trying to play funk. Prince's vocals was the best part and the hornz saved it at the very end.
