What, you think hair stops growing once you reach 45 or something? lol...And ever hear of hair dye?
A wig ain't necessary to look like that. I'm about halfway there to Prince's fro length if I wanted to wear it that way. All I'd need is some hair dye and you'd be claiming I'm wearing a wig, too.
If it's a wig, it's not because it's dark or because it's a head full of hair.

Zoey looks big as hell next to Prince. The shoulder length difference is hard to miss. But he looks good. [Edited 1/15/14 20:13pm]

He's black, it's very possible for him to rock a full head of hair like that at 55, especially if worn natural, because black people hair in it's natural state is full like that, hence the "natural or afro"...just go back and look up any photo of a black person in the 70's when the style was popular. Also, it's obvious that the man dyes his hair, because you know that at age 55, there would be gray hair there. |

Could be...but there are a LOT of guest actors in comedies. Quality performances constantly get either overlooked or just crowded out from being nominated. And Prince hasn't (yet) shown himself to be a good enough actor--comedy, drama or otherwise--to make anyone believe he will (or could) just stand out from the crowd. He did have a number of moments in Purple Rain where he was surprisingly good, but he also had a number of moments that were cringe-inducing lol.
For him to get an Emmy, the entire episode would have to be one everyone talks about, and Prince would need to have some real screen time, not just like 2 minutes...He'll also need to blend in with the other cast members organically--way too many times famous people who are not actors will do guest spots on shows and don't blend in very well, and take the audience out of the moment. The good thing, though (as I mentioned earlier in another thread) is that the way New Girl shoots and edits its scenes could make Prince's performance come across exceptionally well.
But ultimately, he doesn't need to get nominated for his performance for it to be a success.

MTV is weighing in:
So now that we know some more details about what he'll be doing. We have a wish list for the episode. Here's what MTV News hopes happens.
'The Glamorous Life' He enlists Jess' bestie, CeCe, to join his band. She's a model in the midst of a career identity crisis. If anyone can save her from it, it's joining the New Power Generation.
'All My Dreams' He becomes friends with Schmidt. Why? Because Schmidt's online bromance with Michael Keaton turned out to be fake.
'1+1+1 Is 3' Nick and Jess realize that the only time they can really be happy together is if Prince is around. So, he's invited to move into the loft with them. Zaniness ensues.
'Diamonds and Pearls' Prince wants to give Jess a makeover and break her free from her preppy, quirky wardrobe. So, he takes her to Rodeo Drive and buys her the best money can buy.
'Do Me, Baby' He realizes that there's no fixing Jess and Nick. She falls under his spell and they run off together and get married.
'Jam Of The Year' If none of that happens (which, we know, it likely won't), hopefully he just takes the stage and jams out.

Many do. Black hair in its 'various' natural textures, whether worn in an afro style or not, still grows no matter the age or whether it may thin with age or unless the individual has hair growth problems. Secondly, why would you immediately assume it's a wig, just because he allowed his natural hair to grow out in an afro, regardless if he dyes it or not?
Anyway it will be interesting to see how his acting on that show, turns out. [Edited 1/16/14 17:24pm] |

well, its another attempt to appeal to a new generation and appearing on New Girl is probably as good as any. I think the show appeals to the right demographic. |

lol @ "black people hair". I'm torn between wincing at this phrase and laughing. But yes, I'm 49, black, and if I wanted to I could grow a complete afro, and I have very little grey outside of the temples. I use henna which works very nicely as a color and conditioning agent. |

The individuals who tend to win this category are know actors who had great celebrity in the past. Prince fits the mold of known celebrity which is a component (seemingly) for that award.
