well, its another attempt to appeal to a new generation and appearing on New Girl is probably as good as any. I think the show appeals to the right demographic.

The guy on the right looks like he's getting some movement in his colon. I'm sensing he ate some super spicy food that's making the passage a little painful.
Could be...but there are a LOT of guest actors in comedies. Quality performances constantly get either overlooked or just crowded out from being nominated. And Prince hasn't (yet) shown himself to be a good enough actor--comedy, drama or otherwise--to make anyone believe he will (or could) just stand out from the crowd. He did have a number of moments in Purple Rain where he was surprisingly good, but he also had a number of moments that were cringe-inducing lol.
For him to get an Emmy, the entire episode would have to be one everyone talks about, and Prince would need to have some real screen time, not just like 2 minutes...He'll also need to blend in with the other cast members organically--way too many times famous people who are not actors will do guest spots on shows and don't blend in very well, and take the audience out of the moment. The good thing, though (as I mentioned earlier in another thread) is that the way New Girl shoots and edits its scenes could make Prince's performance come across exceptionally well.
But ultimately, he doesn't need to get nominated for his performance for it to be a success.
