Vox is not good for Prince

Prince sounds the best with Hohner and Fender Strat.

I have heard a lot of recordings Prince playing vox guitars

and it seems like he.s not comfortable playing it.his solos with 3rd Eye

are not

as good as his past playing.Shhh from Paris tv show kills all the solos he did with 3rd EYE band.

Strange thing is even Jesse Johnson is playing that guitar now.

Are you sure it's Prince playing? Some of the solos on the 3rd Eye shows are played by Donna Grantis.

The wooh is on the one!

I dont agree...I think they sound great. His something water solo on youtube(besides it sounding like an audience bootleg) sounds great and he seems very comfortable playing it. If he didnt like them...im sure he wouldnt use it. Thats whats important...if HE likes it or not. Your opinion probably doesnt mean much to him inregards to which guitar he solos with...probably in many other regards as well.

i know that some of the solos are played by Dona, even though she tries to emulate his style i can hear the difference.yes Something In the Water is great but to my ears Prince sounds more inspired on Hohner and Fender guitars.

I think he sounds great on the Hohner and the cloud. The symbol guitar sounded a little constipated to me and the strats were the worst of the bunch. Strats and EMG pickups don't mix.

you are absolutely right. the VOX is not the guitar for Prince.

since he's been using these 2 VOX models i think his solo's started getting duller, i just don't like the sound of it.

and to be completely honest: Donna Grantis? why in jehova's razz name does he her? he's one of the best guitar players ever and he lets a semi-skinhead ruin all his solo's.
(and yes i've seen "it" live and i'm not impressed. Montreux 2013 were the worst prince shows i've seen.)

Hopefully this year will be better. The fro. Chick Sabbath. Golden Girl Kareoke with the NPG. Not a good thing.

Prince sounds best (for so-called shredding) on the Cloud Guitars. He sounds better without the Whammy so, no on the Strats.
