Not much different at all...just a horn line and some other horns that follow some guitar riffs.

But this just occurred to me. Maybe the song is about Chaz Bono?

Annnd....maybe he should mash it up with GP and call it 'The Bougie Potential'.

It's nice to have the demo for free and now the final version with horns in best quality!

Not sure what to think of the artwork with the chameleon...

*edit* I see 3EG posted their definition on FB regarding the artwork (and woman in the song):

"Definition of a chameleon: a changeable, fickle, or inconstant person."

Were the horns recorded over the same basic tracks from the demo, or were the drums, bass, guitar and vocals rerecorded?

Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.

It all seems to be the same. Horns stirred in after the fact.

I still hadn't got around to downloading the demo version yet and after the mild hoo-hah about the lyrics I actually expected this one to disappear and not get a release of sorts.

Nice surprise. Maybe the inital "outrage" was over-reaction? wink

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

The new version of the song with hornz is now also posted on the 3EG youtube site.

He puts out the demo for free, then a week or so later puts up a revised version for sale and a few hours later the same version on youtube for free...confuse

I don't think the hornz add that much but it's a nice track.

What's this LGBT stuff now all about? I didn't consider the lyrics homophobic, maybe he has to be dumped for another woman, 'cause what woman would dump him for another man when he is the sexiest man?

And the typo reference is about the originally posted name on 3rdeyetunes was "DA BOUGEOUSIE" (sic) instead of "DA BOURGEOISIE". They quickly corrected it. LOL SMH.

horns or no horns it is bad, and I still don't like it. confused

words from a disillusioned fan.

I was listening on YT, and I am really not buying this,

for each track released I am getting more and more frustrated.

Where are Prince - I am so not feeling his new "big" music, like Nurse wrote somewhere else these songs are without "soul", flat without emotions, the music is not enjoyable anymore.

HOPEFULLY......... THE 2014 ALBUM HAS SOME THING BETTER TO OFFER.

And before the attacks..... no, I am not leaving here... I still looooove the old Prince.

That is the reason for me to stay.

It's a link to where the song is officially sold by Prince/his camp.

Yeah well links to Prince's official Youtube and Twitter are forbidden so I think in order to be cohesive links towards tracks for sale should be forbidden as well. It's likely that Prince is gonna claim tomorrow that 3rdeyetunes is a bootleg website and that the Org is posting links to bootlegs. It's even likely that the only reason why he created 3rdEyeTunes in the first place is to shut the Org down thanks to us posting links like this. So why take unnecessary risks?

besides, since prince seems to want his stuff to be visible nowhere at all,

why would we promote whatever he has on sale?

100% the same as the version that was tweeted out with a WeTransfer link last week. Same runtime, just with horns added.

88ยข, hard to go wrong even if you don't like the direction Prince is going. It's a nearly-free look into his current mindset and what he's recording/revisiting on a personal level, for whatever reason.

Nothing about the song offends me - it's his sense of humor and he can at least be commended for finding a place to offer this type of work for people who want to be part of the ride on the Prince crazy train.

Anyone who expects even a non-cursing Prince to be sensitive and politically correct should have a front-row seat reserved on their own crazy train.

Simply that the download folder name, filename and artwork i.e. lettering on the chameleon, originally read: "DA BOUGEOISIE".

It has now been rectified - the missing 'R' now having been added. (It's why I added 'currently' as I expected it would be rectified).

As usual with the latest songs...we have horns. I wonder if Hornheadz had to do with this. Where are you Michael B. Nelson?? biggrin

The recording of the horns is even more dirty than the original "demo-like" tracks. Hardly any major EQ-ing done as far as I can tell, and the intonation is quite sloppy too (most probably intended that way, of course). Especially the parts where the bass stomps on the fuzz pedal and the horns play those three chords along with the guitar sound quite dissonant (notably one of the horns in the right channel).

So far, I don't think the horns add that much, but the sloppiness and slight dissonance might add to the growing factor of the song.
