Indeed, Isten. It just seems STRANGE and OFF that a consistent theme coming through to his hardcore fan-base, that has been around for eons, should be needed to be consulted with regarding HOW MUCH we would be willing to pay? At the end of the day, an album can only retail as so much, and even if the goodwill of a paying audience/consumer base hasn't been disabled by such amateur marketing research, then surely it just comes down to pointless posturing? But the thing I just don't understand is how for the life of me Prince does not realise how tasteless it is to discuss "business"/"profit" margins when it is abundantly clear he makes a significant return from his tours? It's just reckless and poor PR management. Yet again, a team of professionals, like an established marketing arm, would NEVER discuss such pointless subjects. Release the album, set a price point, do a tour to support the new concept, set a variety of price points, and continue creating. It's not rocket science and yet Prince after all these years (and deals) still seems to be OFF when it comes to getting it ON.

it seems to be what everyone else is doing . they also mentioned that people wanted preview clips of the songs on 3rdeyegirl.com before they purchase them. . the reaction was "it's only 88 cents, so why do you need a preview? surely for 88 cents you just buy it and take the risk". . personally, i'm ok with no previews since i like almost all of his stuff to a degree and i agree that 88 cents is a very fair price. . but in a market where everyone has previews and it's what consumers expect of you, they willingly chose NOT to offer them. THEN they complain that people want them or refuse to buy their product. . the doc also made the comparison with 'stuff you have in the attic that you might be thinking of selling". he said something along the lines of what you would want for it, the emotional value would be much higher than what people would give you for it. . well duh in a market space you can only reasonably charge the same or a little bit less or more than other things of the same nature. i could be attached to an old table and want $ 500,- for it, but if everyone is selling tables for $ 50,- i'm not gonna get mine to sell. so what, i then complain to the people who are buying $ 50,- tables? .

I fear that with these teasing games he's just trying to get the attention and expectancy that his music isn't able to obtain at this point. [Edited 10/1/13 22:52pm]

Which montreux gig? 2007, 2009, or the recent ones?
He has been unable to release any of them. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

So this NPG album, is P likely to be on it? Or is it going to be Prince and The NPG, and Prince and 3rdeyegirl? I hope the latter, a whole album of funk NPG with Shelby's voice all over it is not sounding appealing She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo
