You posted your opinion and I posted mine. Everyone is a hypocrite. Why you're trying to hold Prince to some standard you don't hold everyone else to is beyond me.

You're singling out Prince on religious hypocrisy and you don't know him. Damn, the comedy writes itself around here.
Anywho, sorry to interrupt your cray. Carry on.

Exactly. Well said. I'd like to also add this, since Prince's Montreaux Jazz performance is coming up. Prince has a 22 piece horn section gimmick thing for the show. No Eric Leeds. WTF? Eric Leeds is the only reason anyone thinks Prince can do jazz at all. Prince had no ability to write songs for Miles Davis. He secretly had Eric Leeds do it, but to this day, Prince wants to mislead his fanbase into thinking he is at that particular skill level. He doesn't want anyone around him to be properly paid and celebrated for their talents and contributions because it would detract from the BIG LIE that he marketed himself on for 20-plus years. He did not do it all. Other people did things that contributed to his success.

Possibly Alan Leeds could have replied: Possibly Eric Leeds could have said: Prince is such a douche when it comes to this shit. It's totally personal too, because does Sheila's stuff get taken down, nope. Does Sinead seek his permission to perform or have Nothing Compares 2 on her Soundcloud account? Or Chaka....or the Bangles....etc. He will bully anyone who has had the nerve to call him out on his shit. You want to talk grown victims? They weren't walking around with SLAVE on their faces and then acting like a slave MASTER to anyone who crossed his path. They weren't trying to SELL the first album, it was on their account for people to listen to, and they all made that album what it is not just Prince. He gave them the basic tracks and they polished them up with David Z., so it's not like were talking Vanity 6 here, these guys made these tracks what they are, and the famous strings by Clare Fischer were Susannah's idea and then they went from there. I love how some fans think Prince is the be all and end all of everything he did that was good. I've seen behind the curtain, and Oz, he is not. Exactly. Well said. It just hit me...replace the names and it would fit (I know the Leeds family wouldn't do this but it fits so well) [Edited 7/9/13 11:30am] Ich bin bei der Neue Kraft Bewegung

About the bolded statement below:
Do these performers have the Prince-related/written (whatever) songs/performances up on Soundcloud? Do they post the performances on Youtube? Do they do the things that fDeluxe does that Prince/Prince's people (the difference isn't remarkably significant) keep knocking down?
I realize that the Prince-connected material makes up a larger portion of what fDeluxe has to put out there than these other people. Even if Prince did block their availability on the internet, it wouldn't have the impact on these artists that it would on fDeluxe (or the Original however many can be bothered right now). But do they do what fDeluxe is getting in trouble for doing? Does anyone know?
Please note--I'm not defending Prince here. First, I reject the idea that people have any reason to say "Maybe it's Prince's people not Prince--it's just an automatic thing." If he wanted to make an exception for Paul or Jill or Morris or anyone else that was a protege, than an exception would be made--automatically. Now, he doesn't want his own stuff up for the most part--outside of the current project, you're not gonna find anything from him that isn't likely to disappear any moment. The Paisley material probably is his, as far as ownership. And he owns copyrights to the songs--he almost certainly has a legal standing for much of this--that doesn't mean it's right morally, or even sensible from a business standpoint. I'm not sure what Sheila stuff is available and where, but if it's personal, they seem to be on the outs. I'm guessing it's somehow falling under Warner's control somehow. I don't know, obviously.

WWJD? I'll call him out on his religious hypocrisy. I can't stand people who try to pimp religion.
at "designated religion police officer of the org" and "protecting Prince's feelings duties". I think they do it for VIP concert tickets, a chance to dance on the stage with Prince, or to be his next chosen one.

I know what the fuck I'm talking about and I know Prince so you and those old bandwagon orgers should STFU.
I knew she missed me and would be the first to respond. Hi Genesia. The oldies are so sensitive and need the attention. I hope I made you feel special today.

You do not know what you are talking about here either.
I was refering to the generalizations made by you and the other poster about me when neither of you know jack shit about me.
And I do ignore you and had you not responded to this thread in the first place, I would have continued that tradition permanently.
I really hope you get some peace for whatever slight in your mind that you accuse Prince of. Cuz the rest of us really don't wanna hear about that shit or give a fuck.

It's a well known story. It's in several Prince biographies. Eric Leeds recounted the story for a jazz magazine a couple of years ago. Essentially it goes like this. Miles Daivs recognized that his sound was on the Sign O The Times album. He asks to collaborate with Prince on some new music. Prince dodged him because he didn't know how to write that style of music. Eventually he asked Eric Leeds to write Miles some tracks. Prince mails the tapes to Miles, who adds something to them and sends them back to Prince. Miles thought he was collaborating with Prince, but in fact it was Eric Leeds. Eventually Miles, Prince and Eric have dinner together. Miles asks Prince to jam with him. Prince refuses to play music with Miles for fear of being outed. The charade continued up until Miles' passing.

I'd ask why you people continue to give a shit what he does at this point (given he's been the same person for his entire career so its not like type of stuff is new) but I feel I might be wasting my breath... Change it one more time..

You care. You're in this Fdeluxe thread telling people what you think is uncalled for and you don't know what you're talking about because if you think somebody should care what you think is uncalled for, you're the one who really don't know jack shit. I really don't know why you even care if I get some peace for whatever issue me or Fdeluxe may have with Prince. There is no issue with you and you need to know certain members don't care about what you think is uncalled for but you can go on and say it and you'll keep getting what you're trolling for.
