I was wondering about that--I downloaded both earlier but didn't do anything else and was wondering why both had the same title on the wav file... So, they are both the same song--different versions or what?!! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

there are 2 different songs. but they switched the titles around on them. what was first called "octopus heart" is now called "menstrual cycle" and vice versa. the only thing that changed since they first went up on soundcloud is the titles being switched. the music is still the same as before.

So, I guess I wont know the difference until I actually play them on my computer, although I heard the original stream... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

So, just played the openings to both downloads--they are the same?! Should I download both again? "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

So apparently they streamed a F.U.N.K. rehearsal 4 hours ago. It's on Princevault and people in the chatroom confirmed it for me. Missed another one.

I noticed someone on keys too in the mirror. It's funny because I had the livestream page up and the music came on anyway.

Did you just see the audio vid titled "Work in Progress?" on Livestream about 11:08pm EST? It just played for about 2 minutes, then went off. You could see someone playing on the keyboard, while someone else was on the computer.
(EDIT) Now I see a message that says "Hidden Colors" (started around 11:15pm, I believe. Has a pic of a candle burning and someone on a computer. Love the horns and then the bass. At least it came on at a decent time on the East Coast this time.

So, which track is Menstrual Cycle and which one is Octopus Heart. Currently on Soundcloud the 10 minute guitar-heavy track is identified as "Octopus Heart" and the 4 minute is called Menstrual Cycle. When I downloaded them, they came down titled the other way, and looking at the video from the streamcast, the paper with the note about octopus hearts is during the 4-minute tune, not the 10-minute one.
So--what's going on here? Princevault currently has Octopus Heart as 4:18 and Menstrual Cycle as 10:32, but that doesn't seem to be correct according to Soundcloud after the change earlier today.
What was the indication during the stream for the Menstrual Cycle name? Was it from something in chat?

Yep that's what the message said under the song that played. . Sounds like a song you sit back with your eyes close and chill, after a rough day. I like how it ended, with the sound of a strong wind blowing or strong, ocean waves. It's in DVR mode now. I like how they put some of the tracks in DVR mode for a while, in case some missed it when it started. [Edited 7/3/13 20:58pm]

Okay--for show 9, when they played the 4 minute track (currently identified on Soundcloud as "Menstrual Cycle") the image shown was the Octopus. AAAAAAAAIIIIIGGGHHH!!!
However, I've now heard the F.U.N.K. rehearsal, so that's cool.

Okay--that was "Strays of the World," right? Certainly used it at least--I kept getting dropped and couldn't post to chat. It's still playing on DVR--definitely "Strays." Interesting.

Were the "Work in Progress" or "Hidden Colors" new songs, or were they reworkings?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't know, but another one with a message below the vid says "Stay Free" is on now!!! Don't know the name of the song though. I guess that 'Work in progress' message, meant just that. I don't know if 'Hidden Colors' was the name of the song played. [Edited 7/3/13 20:54pm]

Okay, apparently those titles on the audio vids, does not appear to be the names off songs I previously listed, but below were the messages on each audio they showed.. Other fans know the actual names of the songs played. ....

Their titles are more like descriptions/psuedo titles. "Slaves of the..." was "Strays of the World" and "Stay Free" was an instrumental version of "Brown Skin." Amazing version. On par with Shelby's HOB version. I was Sir Lancelot, I didn't want you to be misled.

Thanks for explaining that. It was fun while it lasted. I edited my earlier comments. I thought those messages under the audio were the titles of the songs they played. What song did the message 'Hidden Colors' reference? Was it a cover song from another artist or did it reference a Prince song? [Edited 7/3/13 21:06pm]
