Outtake Appreciation

I have listened to most of the outtakes and like them, Especially the instrumentals, the We Can Funk outtakes, and the 1999 era songs (example : Moonbeam Levels and Lust U Always (The full version, Not the 15 second snippet on Work It 2.0.) So, what outtakes do you like?

^ His username is my all-time favorite (86 version)

Love all of the rest. My top five:

1 - DataBank (86 version, not the reworked crap released on Pandemonium)

2 - Crucial (7:00 Saxaphone version)

3 - Wonderful Ass (extended 9:45 version)

4 - ExtraLovable (original version from 82-83)

5 - FULL VERSION of the Beautiful 1s.

I absolutely love Moonbeam Levels and Lust U Always. heart

Moonbeam Levels is such a dreamy and emotionally overwhelming song. Gorgeous xo

While Lust U Always is an aggressive, sexual rawness with an awesome groove. wink

I just love them lol smile

Agree Moonbeam Levels is one of best songs, released or not.

Also really like the long hallway speech version of Computer Blue, Wonderful Ass, The Ball that segues into Joy in Repetition, Grand Progression, Billy's Sunglasses, All My Dreams, We Can Funk '86 and Data Bank '86.

Rebirth of the Flesh is in my top 5 favorite Prince songs. Period.

A Couple of Miles - I just dig all the quirks and the weird plucked sped up guitar.

The Line #2 - the fully produced juggernaut is genius.

Neon Telephone - I love it. It was on one of the first tape trades I did and it opened my eyes to what's out there.

Large Room With No Light - Another of the first I ever had. Brilliant.

We Can Funk, All My Dreams, Desire with Prince vocals, All Day All Night, Wonderful Ass, Baby Go Go, Dance With The Devil, Go, Our Destiny, Allegiance, God Is Alive and I Hear Your Voice make my list, too, among lots of others. The catalogue is incredible.

The lush and lavish 'We Can Funk' original, seems popular...and rightly so...touching you in all the right places...fortifying you...

Databank, Turn it Up, Cookie Jar, Player...Heaven...!...just too many...

The Family outtakes?...something for everyone...

It's still an outtake, though, right? I omitted it from my list for the same reason, but it was released 16 years or so after it was recorded for its intended project: thus an outtake. Love this track. I just wish it was around in higher quality...

Heaven and God is Alive, too! I love the 7 note coda-ish bass/guitar part of God is Alive. I'm just waiting for it every time I listen. Dum. Dum. Dum. Duuuum dadadum. Anybody know what I'm on about? And the rhythm track of Heaven is pure genius. Another one I'd consider killing for in perfect quality.

Can I ask what boot you have Lust U Always on? I have several instrumental versions, but only a clip with vocals. Would love to hear a complete version.

Surfaced last year sometime on the Perfect Unreleased Prince bootleg. Along with Fuschia Light, The Line(from the Lovesexy sessions) & a previously unheard track title The Max(different from the one on prince ).
