Jayz may have savy, but Prince has Savvy.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Prince has musical ability and is nice to look at (LOL) but agreed is not really good at the business side. However, he can solve that issue by focusing purely on his music and hiring someone that is good at it. They would pay for themselves many times over.

Hiring Bowie's PR/marketing manager would be a good start.

haahhahaa. P will NEVER hire someone to help make him more successful. he soooo wants to remain the underdog that he was in the past(pre-Purple Rain). he thinks that by doing this, he can maintain his credibility as an on-edge musician. u just can't go backwards from where he has been. one thing he could do, however, is regain the respect of his fanbase by releasing quality versions of his past and present material in video and audio form. listening to his fanbase would be a start towards being more successful. too bad he just wants to play games like he is in his 20s.

^ I think P would like to be more successful and get public attention again, it's just he's going the wrong way about it, i really do not think it's deliberate the way it is now, it's just he never spends money on publicity, he thinks he can do it all the managing and publicity himself. Even with what you mention, people won't know about these new versions or be able to get hold of them unless he hires a decent publicity person otherwise it's only the small hardcore that get to know about it or buy it.

I think a Bowie style public comeback is exactly what is needed...record a mindblowing album in secret and release a single out of the blue and then offer it up on Itunes/wreckastows a few months later...
