Just wanted to let you know that a picture of Prince´s first custom made guitar made by Minneapolis luthier Chuck Orr was posted on Facebook today. It was posted on a page that is not Prince related, and I asked the person whether it´s ok to post his story here. (Actually, there are two people involved...one who is working on a documentary on Chuck Orr, and the other guy adds some info to the picture with the guitar).

They say that two of those guitars were made, one being an electric guitar and the other an electric bass guitar.

I´m not sure whether the bass guitar was the one used by Andre Cymone in one of those early videos ( I Wanna Be Your Lover alternate video? The one where Andre is seen playing a predecessor of the Cloud guitar).

The guitar that they posted looks nothing like the Cloud though.

I don´t know whether it´s against the prince.org site rules to just post a copy of the text I saw on that Facebook page but you can go to the page and read the info and take a look at the guitar.

I saw the guitar on "Old Minneapolis" but here´s a direct link to Chuck Orr´s FB group page.

That is awesome, I always wondered what that guitar was

I just saw that that white guitar is the cover photo of that Chuck Orr page now.

You can see it while surfing on the org if you´re logged into FB at the same time, so just log in to FB and click the link above and the guitar is the first thing you´ll see.

Can´t wait to see the documentary on Chuck Orr.
