^ No, it's all about control. Prince simply doesn't like anybody taking his music and doing whatever with it without his permission. Whatever is made public must be authorised. It's not even about money in essence, but as soon as others are aiming to take his succes and profit from it, the control mode is full on.

I am one of those fans that really just likes his music anymore. And not (What I know of) his personality. I can't imagine being buddies If I were to ever meet him in person I would rather argue our respective spiritual apologetics, rather than gush about how fantasic he is ("The Cross" breaks my heart to hear, knowing he doesn't believe that anymore, yet I still do).

I think a lot of his fans are like that. Wow, he is so amazing musically...but...we shouldn't hang out...I might get sued.

Or maybe its all blown out off proportion and there is stuff we don't know and the media just makes him look bad...(that is my secret hope! Its all a cruel trick!)

I mean I just spent some of my last dollars on tixx, so I know that I'm a true blue fan...but...yikes!

Since Prince can't shut down the books of Toure and Jason Draper, he has to go after entities that share his music. Unfortunately for P, freedom of speech includes journalists but he has more clout when it comes to intellectual property. When he said he doesn't believe in "free goods", and in that context, I understand where he is coming from. In this instance, this is just overzealousness to protect copyright infringement.

Uh, I love Prince like a brother. His music means more to me than just about anything in my life. I owe him so much....but I'm one of those honest people...with my family and friends. I will comment on the good, the bad, and even the ugly.... Prince is batshit crazy. I hate to say it, but this guy does things THAT HURT HIS ABILITY TO MAKE MONEY....he says downloaded music has "No Soul," in an interview, and then releases DOWNLOADS in less than a year after saying that.

He removes the RNR Love Affair video promoting his music...that he PUT ON YOU TUBE, and takes it off. He shouts from the top of the hills about "Real Music by Real Musicians," and then sings over a backing tape of his songs during "Prince Karaoke," which fans nicely refer to as a "Sampler Set."

If those short examples are not proof he is batshit crazy, then you are in the ass kiss camp where he can do no wrong...where all things are positive...a few examples of those people:

1. Tony M was the best rapper ever, even when he rapped about Manure in My Name Is Prince

2. Tony M, Kirk Johnson, and Damon D were "High Fashion" when they wore their Star Trek Next Generation outfits.

3. When Shelby Johnson is not allowed to use her fantastic singing voice, she is forced to turn into a crowd flunky by screaming at the top of her lungs for fans to "Put Your Hands Up." This is true art. Shelby is not actually a crowd flunky, but she is a literary genius and is just expressing herself in a way Prince invented.

A normal person would not believe any of those 3 things unless they have little or no ability to tell the truth about Prince.

Instead of playing to empty seats, maybe the Stade De France would have been full the other year if he allowed it. Not to mention Italy and where ever else he failed to sell out.

That hall of fame clip on youtube gathers such amazing comments. People love the guy if only they can see him. It's such a shame he seemingly doesn't like showing the world who is boss. It's not idolatry, it's about being a fucking teacher and passing on his skills. He should be inspiring people to play music.

People are coming into this world and are forced to watch and listen to crap. He should be part of an alternative to this spoonfed rubbish on the radio. He should be a force, a presence demanding change.
