At first, with the 30 second snippet, I wasn't impressed. The rehearsal really did it for me at first
But since hearing the song in it's entirety .. I love it, I think it's a VAST improvement from 20TEN & R&RLA. I love the direction Prince's heading in musically & I cannot wait for more | |

The video is cheap, but kinda cool with all the lyric transitions
Really diggin it... it's pop friendly, it's not over produced, or overplayed. Sounds organic, very garage bandish. And the double entendre in the refrain shows that Prince is still willing to be playful when it comes to sexual references.

Love it. It's a superb fun little pop/rock number. As Nu says it seems simple in s good way and not overdone. First instinct it to compare it to Guitar but its nothing like it really, this one has more of a theme to its lyrics, they flow better, suggestive and cheeky too (one thing though, and only noticed it cos of the decision to have lyrics animation in the vid - isn't it "without further ado" rather than "adieu" ? - of course that may be wordplay on purpose, minor point for us language/spelling/grammar pedants  )Go Prince & the girls  Just somewhere in the middle,

Going way too far. lyrics are watever. I think i like it. but it's not a song im gonna routinely listen to. Like it slightly more than rrlove affair. Both songs are calming open air music. Prince please lose the hat and the scoobie doobie do. | |

Parts of it remind me of songs like, I Like It There, Act Of God and We Gets Up and that's pretty much the league I'd put it in as a song in his catalog.
Not great, but I like it for what it is. I like the overall sound of the recording itself more than how the "rock" songs on his last couple albums have sounded.

Screwdriver is a pretty decent rocker! I am surprised how "dirty" it sounds considering Prince's rock efforts are usually smoothed out to the point where the songs loose all of their rocking power.
The drums sound as if they were recorded a bit too "overdriven" though, I detect quite a bit of distortion. Not sure yet if that adds to the songs' charm, or that it just sounds like a bad recording. I like the effort nevertheless, finally some raw Prince rock!

Great drum beat. Fun, quite grungy reminds me a bit of the C & D / Gold Experience era. Vocals slightly Dylan-esque.
Think it would do well if released!

Funny thing/mistake:
On the vid it spells 'Without further adieu instead of 'ado'.
Adieu means goodbye, not the same as 'ado' which means fuss lol

I like quite a "lot" of Prince songs post Warner Bros.
However "the albums" as a whole haven't been that brilliant.
Good to average imho.
