LOL, I figured you hit the H when you meant the B key. But then again, I figured it was also possible a cat as talented as you might know something I don't!

Nah, in central Europe we actually do call the B-note "H"!

I almost believed that, LOL.

I thought an H was a Bflat
I remember that because Bach wrote themes that incorporated his name B - A - C - H (Bflat) My Legacy

Dave tells the truth. B (the note) is H in German.
Das passiert einem Deutschsprachigen manchmal...
Btw, your music sounds really good, Dave - I'm just checking it out on your website!

Prince Releases New Song ‘Screwdriver’ (Listen)*Prince has gone and whipped up a new concoction for his fans. “Screwdriver” was posted to his official website today via a video that is half-lyric, half-live performance. Prince (sporting a spirit hood) and his band rip through the guitar-dominated tune with such lyrics as, “I’m your driver and you’re my screw,” flashing across the screen. [Scroll down to watch.] The song comes as Prince covers the new issue of Billboard and surprise gigs in his hometown of Minneapolis. Also, The Guardian reports that a week or so ago a mysterious new YouTube account was created under the name 3rdEyeGirl. The name matches a Twitter handle started at the beginning of the month that features the following bio: “International Art Thief. Everything you think is true. Underground. Soon to be above.” Across both platforms a number of brand new recordings from Prince have started to emerge, which is a bit odd considering Prince is notoriously anti-YouTube and is known for blocking unauthorized recordings (he once angered Radiohead by blocking live footage of him covering the band’s Creep at Coachella). So are these authorized accounts? 3rdEyeGirl are rumored to be Prince’s new backing band (guitarist Donna Grantis, drummer Hannah Ford and bassist Ida Nielsen), and that the “leaks” are part of a new release strategy for a man who hasn’t worked within a typical label structure for almost 20 years. “Screwdriver” is the latest to emerge from the YouTube account, and was posted today on his official website 20pr1nc3.com. http://www.eurweb.com/2013/01/prince-releases-new-song-screwdriver-listen/
Prince's new manager Julia Ramadan is really promoting this project in a terrific way. The new song has hit various websites simultaneously. It looks like Prince is going 2 add another mega hit single under his belt... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

That's where it gets another bit more complicated:
Bflat is actually called "B" here.
So, B = "H" and Bflat = "B"
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, our H is a B. And our B is Bflat.
And the theme B-A-C-H therefore is Bflat-A-C-B, so it's pretty chromatic.
You can hear it towards the end of the final fugue in The Art of Fugue, one of Bach's last works. Bach hasn't finished the piece anymore, he died with that fugue being left unfinished.
Another composer "writing" his name in music was Dmitri Shostakovich (D-S-C-H, which equals D-Eflat-C-B). I'm not sure in which piece of his he did that though.

Tja, dabei bemühen wir Europäer uns doch sehr, so multikulturell wie möglich zu wirken!
And thank you very much!

Oh yeah, the new Prince song...
I think it's really, really great!
Raw sound, hard-hit drums, nasty, and lyrically that little bit dirty, but in a classy way. Good stuff!

Btw, is your album out in stores as well? I don't like downloads, but prefer physical copies. I think I might buy your album, next time I come to a decent CD store (we don't have one in town, I'm afraid).
Maybe this isn't totally off-topic as we still don't know how to buy "Screwdriver"...

Ah, okay. Well B flat is a better note than B anyway!
But it's strange, why doesn't H come after G? My Legacy

I can't get past the first 50 seconds or so. It's awful. Maybe I'll try to listen to it again another time. Lately his music takes repetitive listenings to appreciate. I don't think thats a good thing.

Why is everybody acting like Guitar Pt II is the second coming?
That Prince drought really socked it to us lol. "Climb in my fur."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
First of all, "Guitar" is an acknowledged classic, and the Smithsonian is going to play the version of it he did on the "Jay Leno" show non-stop from tomorrow until the third Boxing Day after the next full lunar eclipse. So there.
Second, any song that has the lyric line "We smash guitars and shatter glass" automatically is afforded Icon Status by the American Association of Icon Status Granters (RodeoSchro, president).
Third, I have not used the words "second coming" in way too many years if you know what I mean and I think you do.

It is just that the "dirt" in the production it is some sort of a fresh breeze in Prince-land, I think. The song is quite catchy too. But I agree it is not earth shattering, just a cool new Prince song. I like it! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Thank you for your interest!
No no, it's only a tiny self-release. But if you really want to have a physical copy, I can send you one (there was a limited number of CDs made and I will ship some out to the UK and U.S. next week anyway)!
Just org-note me if you're interested.

This is a good and brisk song and I think Prince managed to tune the sound right with this one. It's better than Same Page Different Book but not as good as Rock And Roll Love Affair.

Very decent song. Much better than most of his recent output. I give it an 8/10.
I like it. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always
