Today i went into a vinyl record store-cum-jamming studio to test out some of my records with my cousin whos a hell of a DJ.
It was my first time there and the owner...this 30 something dude is a huge Prince fanatic. He did a remix of Khias My Neck and When Doves Cry...and played the extended version of Mountains.
So i asked him whether he had The Black Album...and he did...he sold it to me for 12 bucks. I was thinkin...this is crazy...what man with a stable mind would sell The Black Album for 12 bucks?
I went home and checked out Sleevographia...everything was the same except for one minor detail...
ROCKHARD IN A FUNKY PLACE became ROCKARD IN A FUNKY PLACE.
So do u guys who know more stuff abt The Black Album than me think this is a fake or the real deal?

From what I've heard, not facts but from what I've heard, is that Warner put this out in a small run in 87 or 88 then reissued it in 92. Then there were all of the copies and boots in between. I investigated it when I picked up a copy on vinyl for six bucks and thought I hit the gold mine.

so, why did you as folks if they think it was a fake or real, if when folks say they think it's fake, you then tell them you're convinced it's real?

In fact I'd go further and class it as a pirate copy,
because it's so obviously trying to pass itself off
as an original. It dates from 1988.

Have the same boot with the mispelled track. $12 was too much. Find the real thing ('94 version) in a used Cd shop.

Shit..i remember i bought it for $200 (no lie) when it first came to the light of day in 88. A friend of mine was in Japan and called me that he "found" it and askes if i wanted it!!

I think it's one of the orginals...

AND I WAS THANKFUL TO GET IT... (I sound really OLD saying that..don't I?)
