No, I don't visit this site as often... probably for the same reason as most: not as much happening. But I still do because you never know. What I've seen, though, has been more of the same -- people expressing frustration w/ Prince and more people jumping on those w/ negative comments for not "just leaving the site" or "ever being satisfied." As someone who has drawn catharsis from this site through both positive and negative posts, I have to say: let the haters hate. It's out of love.

The reason we Prince fans are frustrated, the reason we lament RnR affair and other lame "singles" recently put out by Prince, the reason we're so dejected at yet another lame protoge, is becasue we - like all the die-hards who think being a fan and visiting a fan site means never saying anything negative - love prince music (key word: music).

We've connected w/ his music, we know how raw and how funky it can be, and we know - as he says - it can get "better with time." Talent doesn't fade. Motivation does. And that's what we express -- we know what Prince can do if he wanted to, and we're frustrated he doesn't want to! That doesn't make us less adamant prince fans it makes us more adamant. That we feel so strongly about it that we type in a prince-fan-forum is evidence of our convictions.

I'll never stop being a prince fan - and a big reason why is because I never know when he'll bring it. Just when I think he's "lost it" - he busts out w/ "dance electric" on jimmy kimmel. and that's the whole point: part of the adventure is the ebbs and flows - the crystal balls and the 1999 maxi-singles. Feeling those ups and downs - and expressing them - is part of the fandom and shouldn't be criticized and shunned.

I do agree with this critique: if you think a particular post is a waste of time....don't comment and say so. Otherwise you disprove your point. So...in commenting on this, comment substantively and avoid all the mean-spirited "why are you even saying this" and keep it moving.

AGREE 100%, Nothing is wrong with critisim, but some people just wish Prince to be something he is not, or please them, if u are a fan of Prince, U know he has always done whateva he wants to do. This is the epitome of who Prince is. Complaining your ass off is not going to change Prince, it never did. I think R& Rse is a load of old bollocks and it is. That's the most recent thing of Princes right? I'm drawing no comparisons by any stretch but when I first bought ATWIAD I thought it was bollocks too. I only liked Raspberry Beret and I took it back to the shop and got my money back. Literally.

After a week or so I thought I'd better have it and went back and bought it again. I still thought most of it was shit but it was growing on me. It wasn't what I was expecting after PRain but it was good stuff the more you listened to it.

Today, there isn't a song on the album I don't like. It's a classic album to me and was bold as fuck at the time. To others, it's the biggest let down piece of shit he ever released and they might well say so. Why would they be bothering if they weren't into P though and who's to say who's right or wrong?
