Academics/Scholars?

Are there any humanities scholars on this site who would be interested in participating on an academic panel in late March in Washington, D.C. about some aspect of Prince's music and/or life? At this point, I'm just trying to gauge the level of interest in such a panel by org users. Let me know and we can take it from there.

Peace.

I have presented papers on Prince's lyrical themes at three conferences, including CLA, but since my background is literature (poetry and fiction) I never discuss music. So, it depends on the conference. I am not usually in the DC area so I would have to know more about the actual conference, but it sounds interesting.

Is this part of a larger conference or one that is devoted to Prince? I am in applied linguistics, nit sure what sort of research I can generate between now and the conference dates you listed, but it could be interesting.

ah the 'moor! halcyon days dear chap. i remember when frank bruno came to visit. all arranged by a wonderful shell-suited white haired character named jimmy savile. i often wonder what happened to him. i must look him up when i'm released.

I guess people don't realize that when they post or reply to threads that seemingly have no interest to them just to show that the threads have no interest to them that they are revealing that they have emotional and psychological issues...issues that seemingly can’t be resolved by being asses on a website? It's really sad what this website has become.

I'm impressed. You managed to say that in less than 17 ponderous paragraphs and no bullet points.

You can't say that about the Org. Well, the point is, you can, subject to over-zealous 'moderation'. SNIPPY NIPPLESLIP SNIPSNIP. wink

hmm

I'll try not to waste too much time and be as succinct as is possible. Knowing me, that'll never happen.

Suffice it to say you should be fully aware of your surroundings. A quick perusal of some thread titles may serve as an indication.

I guess, you missed the spelling and punctuation lessons during your own scholarship? You must get terribly short of breath, though that's beside the point. Perhaps you wouldn't be an appropriate candidate for the panel.

Automatically jumping to assumptions that people have emotional and psychological issues is one thing. Said issues may, or may not be kept at bay by being asses in general, though we are not at liberty to say. Going on to say these wouldn't be resolved by being asses is mere conjecture on your part and I for one, will endeavour to fluctuate my responses accordingly, possibly.

Your contribution to the thread has been to jump on people for having a chuckle. At least they have shown some interest and in doing do so, have 'bumped' the thread, thus drawing the attention of those that may have a passing interest in the subject. Some 'asses' have even offered to attend. The fact that some may not be at liberty to do so is a matter of some discourse. Let's just hope that everyone is in full receipt of the appropriate medications if and when needed.

I was always of the assumption that mine was the running hot, water of the daughter of morality. Pop would go mama when the Orger got a little too much perhaps?

We gotta work together on this ok? Now I want the names of all the places you've lived, all the schools you went to, friends, enemies, acquaintances, good memories and bad. Maybe we can try to learn to... Maybe, just maybe, we should try to be somethin else? Oh yeah, the first half was fun but it aint about that it's about this.

What's all this about anyway? Would it be like Question Time but with Prince as the subject? Prince.Org with a cup of tea and a bit of CAKE?
