Love it, a great 2nd intro to Emancipation and apparently first song recorded for it.

Love the postman rap!

I like it. It has one of the few raps in a Prince song that works.

Fell in love with it when I first heard it. The vocal layering is hip. One of my favorites from the first disk & its a "MasterPiece"....

It's okay but not one of my favorites on the Emancipation album. There were a lot of gems on that 3 disc set, but this song wasn't one of them, IMO.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

seemed kinda fillerish when i first heard it but the bassline really sticks once u get into it. i still find it kind of fillerish but i like it.

Agree, the rap is the best part of the song. Which says it all, if you know what I mean... wink

Yeah, it's the type of a track you always sort of forget about, but when you put on CD1 of Emancipation you'll remember how enjoyable it is.

Well, I'd hardly consider any of the first six songs on the first disc classics, but there's something about that six song progression that clicks really well with me (yes, even Betcha By...).

If EMI wouldn't have folded soon after its release Prince definitely would have had some hits from this "MasterPiece" of a project. I'm sure out of all his releases this one had to be a bit disappointing to him. Since he put so much time & effort into planning it.But sometimes in life things don't go as planned & the lost of Boy Gregory played a major play in it as well. sad

This song is a perfect example of what's wrong with this album.

It sounds good at first, solid groove - then nothing happens of much variety or inspiration, and then it ends.

At the same time overproduced and unfinished. Too much energy into the studio and too little into the songwriting.

Funk itself, is rooted in simplicity, but I feel you, to each his own.

Nice energy and great vocal delivery. But the lack of interesting melody and repetitiveness makes it not memorable and not a favorite.

It's like pp4 says -- I like the song when it comes on. But otherwise, it's hard for me to even remember how the tune goes.

Reminds me of Londonboy. When I missed him, I listened to this song.

have you??? have you ever done any vocal layering in the studio? if not YOU have no idea what you're talking about! you have no opinions other than everything prince has ever done being a "masterpiece", but you never qualify why it's a masterpiece. you know fuck all about music!
