You don't even have to type anything. Just rate each song out of 10 and click submit at the bottom. The more people that do it the more representative it will be. Not only will it show you best/worst album but also best/worst song. I am setting up another poll for the post 1990 material. The reason it isn't there is because the poll couldn't handle all the information so i've had to make two. Prince has way too much material (aren't we lucky!) As well as official material im going to create one which caters for outtakes. Please contribute and have fun and remember the results don't lie!

At first i wondered whether to include The Black Album at all, as it wasn't released til 1994 but decided it fitted in better in terms of when it was made in chronological terms. Why Handclapz?

I noticed that it was very rare for me to give a Prince song under a 7 rating. And they were mostly on the first album.

I gave "Sexy Dancer" an 8. The album totals are determined by the songs that comprise it, so we're not voting on the albums themselves.

So here's my question. Why are we just rating the GOOD records? How come we're not rating the rest of them? Is this a preliminary run just to see how the poll works, and then you'll add the rest of the songs?

I'd be interested to see where the later material falls into this list. I bet the top 5 would STILL be the same...

I can't believe the difference of QUALITY music from the 80's to the 90's. Thank God for the 80's output that's all I have to say, and THANK YOU for doing this it was a lot of fun!

On doing this poll myself it's plain to see the massive drop in the quality of the material. I would take places 40-60 in the 80s poll over 1-20 in the 90's. It is pretty damn shocking but maybe proof of how good the old album format was. You know 8-10 songs an album being all killer no filler. There is much junk in the 90's stuff.
